Good listening

Compulsive “yes” to every request is not my problem, rather finding nice ways to decline unnecassary requests from zero-tolerance people. I did find parts of the book useful for that, especially regarding respectful “no’s”. It was good to listen to.

Assertiveness is a Muscle

A thorough treatment if how to recognize if you are a people-pleaser and need to grow in assertiveness, and then everyday ways to practice building that muscle (hint: start with low resistance and work your way up the stack). Simple but not easy. Well done.

Don't Waste Your Time

This book is generic. You've already heard or concluded everything the author has to say. I feel like I could have wrote something better. Very little insight is offered on this subject by this book. Not worth the time. It may be good for junior high or high school kids but not adults with a lot life experience. Furthermore, the assertiveness problems the author presents is only from a first world privileged position i.e. Someone getting your order wrong at Starbucks. Really? There's real issues in the world. I recommend reading Brene Brown's books instead. Her honesty through vulnerability approach to solving people pleasing has been working well for me. Save your money or audible credits!

Extremely beneficial. Highly recommended.

Extremely beneficial. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn how to say no with confidence, in their personal life, employment, and in business. One of the important lessons I learned from this book is that the saying YES to people and perceived opportunities which not in line with your goals it’s saying YES to yourself. Thank you, Damon. Great work!
