Description

After the death of her father - Pa Salt, an elusive billionaire who adopted his six daughters from around the globe - Tiggy D’Aplièse, trusting her instincts, moves to the remote wilds of Scotland. There she takes a job doing what she loves: caring for animals on the vast and isolated Kinnaird estate, employed by the enigmatic and troubled Laird, Charlie Kinnaird.

Her decision alters her future irrevocably when Chilly, an ancient gypsy who has lived for years on the estate, tells her that not only does she possess a sixth sense, passed down from her ancestors, but it was foretold long ago that he would be the one to send her back home to Granada in Spain.

In the shadow of the magnificent Alhambra, Tiggy discovers her connection to the fabled gypsy community of Sacromonte, who were forced to flee their homes during the civil war, and to ‘La Candela’, the greatest flamenco dancer of her generation. From the Scottish Highlands and Spain to South America and New York, Tiggy follows the trail back to her own exotic but complex past. And under the watchful eye of a gifted gypsy bruja, she begins to embrace her own talent for healing.

But when fate takes a hand, Tiggy must decide whether to stay with her newfound family or return to Kinnaird and Charlie....

Eager anticipation disappointed

Sadly not up to the standard of the series. Predictable, plot too simple, very disappointing.

Narrator has a stuffy nose!

Granted, I’m only 5 Chapters in, and not only is the story dreadfully slow to pick up...the WORST part is listening to the narrator. I feel I need to give her a decongestant or Afrin! Very annoying, especially since I’ll have to listen to it for another 17 more hours!!!!
I love this series so far, and was looking forward to this release...very underwhelming so far!

Disappointing

I wanted to like this story - but I couldn’t finish the book. It was too disjointed. The dialog was cheesy. Didn’t sound natural at all. And it was all made worse by a narrator who could not produce a Spanish accent. Not her fault, but strange choice for a book that is half set in Spain. I think I would have enjoyed the book when I was 13... but not now.

Mostly very good

Loved most of it. Had some issues with the accents of the narration. Something about using English dialect, as well as accents, bothered me when they were spoken in the POV of the character, which was not English. Story was entertaining if a bit predictable. But still enjoyable.
I want to read the next one, but it doesn't seem to be up yet. If anyone knows the release date, please respond to me?

Love this series..... but

I so wanted to love this book. I had been eagerly waiting for it. I'm sorry but something about this one felt rushed and formulaic. It was predictable and just failed to captivate the way the first four did. Story lines felt rushed and undeveloped as did the characters. Previous books are full of interesting and complex characters and how their lives intersect become part of the developing story. Not this time. Even Tigi, the main character failed to develop fully as had "sisters" in the previous books. It was more akin to a dime store romance novel with a totally predictable outcome. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but disappointing when you are expecting so much more. Yes, I await the upcoming story of Electra. I hope Lucinda has her mojo back. While the writing style was lovely as always, this story just failed to satisfy.

Did not like the narrator!

This was one of the hardest books to get through! The narrator did nothing to bring life to the book. She sounded as if she had a cold the entire way through and lacked the emotion needed to keep the listener interested. I pre ordered the book and was very excited as i have listened to the previous 4 books in this series. I feel the narrator ruined the story. Very dissatisfied!

Familiengeschichte

Ansonsten sehr gelungene weitere Fortsetzung!

Achtung! Suchtgefahr

Ein wunderbares Buch, fesselnd, dicht und mit einer tollen mehrschienigen Geschichte. Schade dass es zu Ende ist.

Very enjoyable but...

I am halfway through listening to the book and am enjoying it, as I've enjoyed all of the other Seven Sisters books. It is, in fact, very long (as they all are), but for me, as a listener, the longer the better. As always, we are taken back and forth from the present day (with the 5th sister, Tiggy), to the past (with her gypsy ancestors in Andalucía). I wish, however, that they had used two different speakers for this book, as has been done for 2 of the others. I.Wilde reads very well, generally, and differentiates between characters nicely, so that the story is easy to understand. Her English and Scottish accents are good (as far as I can tell), for the sections on the present, BUT I can hardly stand her pronunciation of the Spanish words so common in the sections about the past. It would have been much better to have a speaker who actually knew how (and was able to) pronounce even simple Spanish words (bruja, Dios mío, olé, hijo, Angelina... ) not to mention more complicated words and phrases. Oddly enough her voice for Spaniards speaking English (for example, the "r" sound) is more accurate than for Spaniards speaking Spanish...
