Description

The Art of War dates back to the fifth century BC, and is an ancient Chinese military handbook. Attributed to the intelligent military strategist Sun Tzu, the title of the work is Master Sun's Rules of Warfare when literally translated from Chinese. The book contains 13 chapters, each of which are dedicated to a single aspect of warfare strategy. Emperor Shenzong of Song deemed it the most important of China's Seven Military Classics in 1080 and it is still one of the most influential strategy texts in East Asia. Leaders such as Mao Zedong, General Douglas MacArthur, and General Vo Nguyen Giap are said to have drawn inspiration from Sun Tzu's famous work.

you have to read or hear more than once

it is a good book but gets better with multiple read's, to be able to interpret it for more modern day application

Thank you

Thank you Mel Foster for reading this book to me. You did a great job. I have heard about this book for many years, but just never picked it up, or had the time to read it.

I can see why this book has stuck around through the years.

The teachings are relevant even to this day. I think its should be a standard for those who look to use it in a business environment.

good book, reads like a condensed memoir

I liked this book and its many principles of war. Does not talk about any particular campaign. It reads like a memoir of things that went well and did not go well for Sun Tzu. That being said it is one point of view to war and holds weight to stratagem.
