Rob Inglis is amazing and the book is obviously amazing
This reader is one of my all time favorites. It’s a whole new experience listening to him tell the story as he sings all the songs and does all the different character voices beautifully. People commented on his breathing but honestly I never even noticed it until I read the other comments. Rob also did the a couple of the Earthsea audiobooks by Ursula K. LeGuin and they’re amazing. Great storyteller. This is a super old recording so the audio quality isn’t perfect but it doesn’t matter to me personally. big fan of Rob!

What a delight
Great narration with a lot of effort put into the voices of the different characters. Even some of the songs are softly sang. Tolkien’s text has not aged at all. I am french, and i could understand most of the english used there, thanks to the great articulation of the reader. Most thanks.

Exceptional
What a great work of art, read it a few times but listening to it gave me chills at times as the emotions and action are magnified by the actor's voice

Terrible breath
It's impossible to listen correctly with the VERY HUGE inhalation of the reader at EACH word !

Très déçue...
Les respirations très fortes du lecteur sont très pénibles, insupportables... c'est comme écouter une personne constamment à bout de souffle, enrhumée !... alors que l'on attend une voix qui respecterait l'ampleur des belles phrases de Tolkien. Erreur de distribution ou enregistrement défaillant ?
