    • EP 48 - Detachment and Surrender to Choose Happiness
      Feb 22 2023

      EPISODE NOTES:

      In this episode, Susan discusses:

      • Happiness is truly a choice, but not that simple and not as simply as “just choose.”
      • Detaching and surrender isn’t as scary as you may have been taught to believe, but it is also not as easy when you’ve believed it was for so long… simply takes practice.
      • Changing your story narrative and discovering who you really are paramount to happiness and having the ability to choose.

      Key Takeaways:

      • Choosing happiness isn’t just choosing – it’s releasing attachment to old stories, conditioning, expectations, and roles so you can surrender into you… then you can choose whatever you want.
      • Surrender and detachment is going from the internalizing place of it's about me to the externalized place that it’s not about who we are, or what we do, but about the perspective and lens we’re viewing things through that is born from our conditioning.
      • Knowing self at the core is critical to choosing happiness and letting go of past conditioning.

      STEPS TO DETACH AND SURRENDER:

      1. Look at Who You Are – the core of you, without the roles that you play.
      2. What do you like/love about yourself? The qualities, traits, strengths, positives?
      3. What do you dislike/want to change about yourself that don’t represent the best and highest version of you – the parts of you that aren’t fully expressed? The qualities, traits, weaknesses, and negatives?
      4. Identify your IDEAL – whether it’s a partner, YOURSELF, a job, a home, a geographical location, a dream… anything that feels like it is holding you back – what is your ideal?

"It’s important to identify the narratives that are triggering you into holding back a part of yourself and live in a place of attachment and unhappiness. Detaching from those past conditioning stories, and surrendering into uncovering who YOU are, is critical to being able to choose happiness from a place that resonates for YOU and not based on who you think you ‘should’ be."  —  Susan Dascenzi

    • EP 47 - Change and our "Comfort" Zones
      Feb 7 2023

      In this episode, Susan discusses:

      • Changes and how they're constant and we can learn to not be pulled out of our comfort zones when changes happen.
      • The fact that comfort zones do not actually exist (just like "buttons" people say can be pushed) and they are simply feelings and a mindset that one can learn to shift in order to handle changes well.
      • Changes are nothing more than a set of unknowns and one can learn how to "know" the unknowns.

      Key Takeaways:

      • Changes affect comfort zones because they're unknowns and we can learn how to know the things that seem scary with the change.
      • The "buttons" people talk about pushing are the same as the "comfort zones" we believe we have, yet they're nothing more than triggers, thoughts, feelings, and mindsets that are being reacted upon versus responding to - automatic vs choice.
      • Taking baby steps and learning to know what you perceive is a total unknown at the moment of the change is the key to managing the change without feeling as though you're out of your "comfort zone."

"The unknown is only scary, and can rock your comfort level, when you fear learning to know what you can about this unknown change or situation. Taking a breath, hugging yourself in your mind's eye, and making a plan will dissolve that uncomfortability and return you to comfort when you're willing to look at what you don't know you truly DO know!"  —  Susan Dascenzi

    • EP 46 - Baaaccck from the Shadows!
      Jan 31 2023

      In this episode, Susan discusses:

      • How she came back from the shadows that caused health issues over the last 3 years and began a different level to her healing journey.
      • How to face your own shadows and illuminate them in such a way as to honor your authentic self.
      • How we can integrate the shadow parts of us and live the life we truly desire as our own true visionary.

      Key Takeaways:

      • Shadows, obstacles, walls that we put up, the fears of our ego may trigger a lot, but it truly is not as scary as it appears when we shine a light on them.
      • By shining a light on our shadows, we are able to transcend into a new level in our healing journey because we then have no choice but to face the shadow and learn to integrate it.
      • Our ego and the emotional triggers are simply a warning sign that there is a shadow we must illuminate if we are to live as a full authentic expression of our divine essence.

"You are a divine being living in human form and shadows are a part of the illumination process... our healing process. We must shine a light on our own shadows so that we may integrate them and shine our light even brighter - ultimately showing the world how to illuminate their own shadows." —  Susan Dascenzi
