Description

not the end, but maybe the beginning of the end
The enemy are at the gates and amongst the loyal. They are here, have always been here. Its the way they fight, the alpha legion have planned for every contingent, anticipated every angle, devised every move.... that is except for Rogal Dorn. This is as good a book that has ever come out of a board game. There's intrigue, action, and character. The horus heresy can be a money grubbing mess at times, but this one stands out like a Ruby in Dorns armor.

I love the fists and I have a better appreciation for the Alpha legion now. I like how ambiguous the ending is.

Want more like this
The amount of time that it took to get to the finale was filled with fantastic Alpa Legion tom-foolery, and I enjoyed all of the twists that this books three st me.

Mystery Abounds
I'm just getting into 40k lore and story. This book was great. Amazing performance by Keeble, of course. The story was full of great twists and turns. With the Alpha Legion around, you can never calm down or get comfortable cause then, BAM, another awesome curve all is headed your way. Also, Dorm is actually likable here. Very nice. Read it.

One of Few Heresy Greats
This book ranks up there with Betrayer and The First Heretic.
Read if you like the Alpha Legion, Imperial Fists, or normal humans operators in the Grimdark

I am Alpharius?
Awesome spy story and background, never much cared for Dorn until now and the book puts the events of Legion into perspective, in that Alpha Legion is losing their minds. Book description didn't do this one justice, not what was expected and that's for the better. Easily somewhere in top ten for the series.

Well executed, poorly written.
As usual the reader did a great job but I couldn’t pay attention half the time. The story seemed to ramble on about unimportant details, jump between characters at odd moments and lacked any sort of actual thrill in what is supposed to be a sort of spy thriller novel.

Stellar!
I'm new to Warhammer, I actually started with the Seige of Terra cycle. I've really enjoyed back tracking to the Horus Heresy and seeing the events that have lead to this. This book in particular was a nice set up, wasn't boring knowing where everyone was going to end up.

A gripping tale from start to finish
Guarding Terra is boring? Think again. An absolutely fantastic book, and a must read in the series. Also a brilliant performance by Jonathan Keeble.

The alpha legion keeps you guessing
Great vocal performance as we've come to expect of Jonathan Keeble. The story is about Terra, Dorne and the Alpha legion. It is twisting and includes great characters.

The first part of the HH I did not enjoy.
Lore inconsistencies, confusing writing and a story that could have been great but the book feels squeezed and rushed.
