Malcador the completely different
The book is decent, but the thing that epidemice My dislike for this book is how much malcador act differently then in every book that comes before it... He has always been depicted as jovial and wise, sure he was ruthless enough to found the assassinorium, but he never showed rage or callusnes, and he always found a use for those Who remained loyal to the throne... Yet in this he kills loyal servent, nd plans the murder of even more loyal souls, and when garro shows the tenacity to unravel one of malcadors secrets which looked like a traitor plot, malcador punishes him instead of seeing it as the skill and loyalt to the throne that it was.... So yeah characers in this book grates against how they have been shown in the past...

A battle book.
Was unable to finish the book, I'm not interested in hearing 12hours of battle scenes descriptions with a hint of story on top.

gotta love the Horus Heresy
a great book that fills in alot of gaps that the audiodrama leaves out. although I do miss the sound effects it's a richer story of garro told

Great Anthology of Garro stories.
Great set of books about the legendary Garro. Shows Garro's growth from Malcador's puppet to true believer of the Imperial Creed.

Garro is officially now my favorite Astartes.
what can i say. it was amazing. a wrll told written and all around excellent listen. One which made me feel for Garro and the many other characters within.

An Excellent Auditory Experience
A moving and exciting story about a man searching for meaning in a galaxy on fire. As always there books are a masterwork of narratives and narration. I look forward to listening to the whole series.

Amazing journey
The path of the Ex Death guard marine Garro is an interesting one. Especially the final story is absolutely captivating, bringing back some almost forgotten faces and beginnings of the imperial cult. Toby Longworth delivers an outstanding performance throughout the whole book, which makes this am absolute joy to listen to.

Each substory should have had a full story
The stories seem weakly linked and shallow. For something which is basically an elaboration of established lore it seems directionless and if I didn't know the overarching storyline I would be more than dissatisfied. This piece would be terrible.

Starke Kurzgeschichten
Geniale Kombination: Starke Kurzgeschichten, die noch besser werden durch den Vorleser. Toby Longworth ist für die 40K Romane das, was David Nathan für die deutschen Stephen King Hörbücher ist. Er passt, dank seiner tiefen und facettenreichen Stimme, einfach unglaublich gut in diese finstere Zukunft und die rauen Schauplätze mit ihren kantigen Protagonisten.
Garro ist ein interessanter Charakter und eine wichtige Figur auf dem Weg vom Beginn der Horus Heresy zu den späteren Begebenheiten innerhalb des Imperium of Mankind, eine Ikone auf Seiten der Loyalisten. Auf der Suche nach sich und seiner Rolle hinsichtlich des Schicksals der Menschheit kämpft er wo er kann gegen die Verräter, allerdings ohne Legion, durch welche sich die Space Marines sonst ja gerade definieren. Mehr will ich gar nicht zum Inhalt sagen, außer dass es für Freunde des Imperiums und Warhammer Interessierte in jedem Fall sehr unterhaltsame Stunden bietet. Imperator protegit!
