Driven almost to the brink of self-destruction at Isstvan V, the Iron Hands now seek vengeance for the murder of their primarch Ferrus Manus.

Gathering survivors from the Raven Guard and the Salamanders aboard any vessels capable of warp travel, these Shattered Legions wage a new campaign of annihilation against the traitor forces across the galaxy - a campaign masterminded by legendary warleader Shadrak Meduson.

This Horus Heresy anthology contains 10 short stories by authors including Dan Abnett, Chris Wraight, John French and many more. Also, in the The Seventh Serpent, Graham McNeill revisits the ragtag crew of the starship Sisypheum as they are drawn into a war of subterfuge against the Alpha Legion.

Le plus pertinent
One of the best anthologies of the HH, and definitely worth listening to.
Perfectly encapsulates the despair felt by the loyalists of the shattered legions right after the Istvaan V massacre and delves into very interesting (and rare) subjects like PTSD for Astartes and the sheer incomprehension to the drop site massacre from the POV of (mostly) Iron Hands, which have next to no lore/books attributed to them.

Performance as excellent as ever
85/100

++ Beginning Spoilers ++
The novella in which Alpharius disguises himself as an Iron Fist was pretty odd and read more as a Cain novel, due to its lighter tone, especially when contrasted with the brutal ambiance that precedes it.

Very solid anthology
