Only picks up at the end, and one of the narrators is a bit hard to get immersed with. When it comes to writing, it's very hit and miss, somewhat too grandiose without an aim at times, and downright nonsensical for 40k (for my taste) at others. If you like the Salamanders this is a decent enough read, otherwise it could be skipped.
