Marshall is feeling conflicted. Incredibly, he feels angry, bewildered, and sad. "I don't even know what to feel anymore." He wants to lead a life free of regrets. The now 16-year-old talks about whatever is on his mind, maybe with a special guest or just by himself, while also attempting to inspire viewers to appreciate who they are and reject the norms of society.

The author takes on his fellow Southerners who say they are all about "heritage, not hate". He believes the Southern heritage was hate and to a great extent...still is.
