This week we talkabout the third film in The Godfather trilogy. Having discussed the first two films on the podcast in the past we felt it time to watch the final film, and we approached with caution! We give our opinions and discuss whether this is "significantly worse" than the previous films, we conduct a draft pick of family member movie titles and we debunk Michael's fall from grace. Plus, stick around until the end to see what treasure of a film we'll be discussing next week.

Michael can't have thought he was out. He's still conducting meetings with these people and having discussions about the mob life every day. Sure he can say he's trying to get out but really this film highlights his reluctance to stay out. So they pull him back in to a place he never really left.

In preparation for tomorrow's new episode talking about 'The Godfather Part III', we've thrown it back to an episode we recorded three years ago, on which we discussed the first movie in the trilogy with Godfather fan Jonty O'Callaghan. The episode was released in the year of the film's 50th anniversary.

We go on many a tangent and struggle to stay on topic, but when we do there's some great conversation to be had around the world of Francis Ford Coppola's groundbreaking film. This week we talkabout a romantic film that took cinemas by storm in 1990, with a pottery scene that is one of the most iconic (and messiest) in cinema history. it's 'Ghost'. We discuss the lore and logic behind the deaths, get creeped out the by the guy at the train station and talk all things Whoopi Goldberg. We also conduct a draft pick of the most romantic scenes in film and discuss the lead actors and their unexpected Disney appearances. If this came out today it would be called 'Ghosted', and Demi Moore's character wouldn't know that her partner had died, thinking he's just leaving her on read instead. She'd keep texting and calling to no response. Swayze's character has to contact her from the other side by inserting himself into the Cloud, and leaving cryptic messages across her apple devices. It's probably an Apple Original, and it probably starts Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

We say more quotes than anyone cares for (including a ranking of Ice Cube lines), we talk about the careers of the two leads and we chat about Lord and Miller. A 23 Jump Street feels so nailed on. Especially as Hollywood is healing, a massive comedy blockbuster that has a strong IP and has two big actors involved feels like a no brainer. A third film where they have to go undercover as professors at the school, or university lecturers. Make it happen Hollywood!

This week we have taken a pause in our usual proceedings to give a full discussion to the newest Marvel movie: 'Thunderbolts*'. We talkabout a return to form for Marvel, and how the film manages to balance so many different backstories more eloquently than anything else that's released thus far in the Multiverse Saga. We chat about the film's top moments, rank MCU projects since Endgame and answer a whole heap of listener questions. Enjoy!

That asterisk is an incredible marketing ploy. I imagine now studios will be trying to force other punctuation marks into their movie titles. Godzilla > Kong , Avatar; Out of This World or Indiana Jones @ The Base of a Mountain. Surely now if there was another Thunderbolts movie, seeing them return to their rag tag group after failing in their new title, the film would be called 'Thunderbolts**2, just something to think about.
