  • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - The Hitch-Hiker #16
    May 25 2024

Every so often, we experience moments that seem outside of the normal patterns of existence. Nan Adams (Inger Stevens) a young woman on a cross-country trip across the United States, is experiencing just such an event. No matter how fast or far she seems to drive, Nan cannot seem to outrun a particular hitch-hiker, a man--or entity--who seems to have a hidden purpose. This week on Key of Imagination, we're taking a look at the classic Twilight Zone episode: "The Hitch-Hiker." We'll talk about what the hitch-hiker might actually be; we'll try and figure out the purpose of the sailor; and I'll reveal to you my moment of awe. If you're...going my way...consider joining us on this journey through the fifth dimension. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - I Shot an Arrow into the Air #15
    May 11 2024

Astronauts on a voyage to stretch the mark of humanity, only to find themselves crashed on an asteroid, or so they think? This week we're talking about the Twilight Zone episode "I Shot an Arrow into the Air." We'll discuss whether or not we actually can land on an asteroid--and possibly if we can live on, or in, one; we'll take a stroll over to Sigmund Freud's house and get a better sense of how our astronauts are affected by the reality principle and the pleasure principle; and I'll reveal to you my moment of awe. So, if you love Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone, strap in, and consider joining us on this journey through the fifth dimension. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - Third from the Sun #14
    Apr 27 2024

William Sturka, a perfectly normal man in many respects: family, friends, a job. However, he's walking around with a big secret. Namely, a ware is coming, one that will ultimately mean the end of the species. All he can do is grab his loved ones and friends and make a mad-dash for a means of escape. In this week's episode of The Twilight Zone, we take a look at one of my favorite episodes: "Third from the Sun." It's a story that seems even more relevant today than, perhaps, even when Rod Serling introduced it in 1960. We'll talk about how informed/pessimistic Serling's audience was about atomic destruction at the time of the episode; we'll question whether or not Sturka's profession as a scientist alters the way we view his character; and I'll give you my moment of awe. So, grab your keys, and let's get this door to the fifth dimension open. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - The Four of us are Dying #13
    Apr 13 2024

What if you could shapeshift and change your face to look however you want it to. What would you do with that power? If you're our protagonist in this week's Twilight Zone episode, Arch Hammer, you'd spend your time being petty, breaking hearts, and stealing from men who should probably not be trifled with. But, the Twilight Zone has a way of balancing itself out--as Mr. Hammer will learn all too late. In this episode of Key of Imagination, we're taking a deep look at the episode "The Four of us Are Dying." We'll discuss shapeshifting, plastic/cosmetic surgery, and deepfakes with AI. Additionally, I'll give my rating, and I'll reveal my moment of awe for this episode. Mar 30 2024

In this week's Twilight Zone episode, we're going to discuss "What You Need." Pedott is a gentleman with a very special gift: he can see into the future. He can reach into his box of wares and pull out exactly what you need to help you through a particularly difficult part of your life. But, when down-on-his-luck Fred Renard realizes what Pedott can do, he decides that he is going to finally try and get what he believe he is owed. In this episode, we're going to talk about the gift and/or curse of foresight; we'll discuss the importance of humor in life; and I'll make the argument for us to bring back a specific word that I believe WE need in my awe section. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - And When the Sky was Opened #11
    Mar 16 2024

What would you do if a person you cared about not only disappeared from existence, but no one but you has any memories of their having existed at all? That's at the heart of our Twilight Zone episode this week: "And When the Sky was Opened." Three astronauts leave earth only, disappear for 24 hours, and then mysteriously reappear. One-by-one, each disappears. we'll talk about whether or not we have a real version of this phenomenon; we'll discuss parallel universes and multiverses; and I'll give my moment of awe--it involves a certain project from the 1950s that helped us get to the moon in the 1960s. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - Judgment Night #10
    Mar 2 2024

John Lyly famously said, "all is fair in love and war." However, we know that this is not true. War is a complex moral subject. As a paratrooper in World War II, Rod Serling knew this first hand. In this week's episode of Key of Imagination, we're taking a look at "Judgment Night." It's the story of a man damned, not for the war he brought to humans but for the war he brought upon humanity. We'll talk about whether or not torments can go too far; if the men aboard Lanser's submarine are also part of his recurring punishment; and we'll discuss our moments of awe. So, grab your key and let's open up this doorway to the fifth dimension. If you want to join us on this journey, consider subscribing to the channel. • KOI: A Twilight Zone Show - Perchance to Dream #9
    Feb 17 2024

Can dreams hurt us? No, I'm not talking about some Freddie Kruger stuff. I mean can nightmares cause our bodies to fail? In this week's episode of KOI: A Twilight Zone Show, we're talking about the episode "Perchance to Dream." It's the story of a man in crisis, desperately trying to stay awake, for if he goes to sleep, he will be face-to-face with Maya, the femme fatale. We'll talk about sleep, heart conditions, and what seems to me to be somewhat of a plot hole in the episode. Consider joining us on this journey through the Twilight Zone.
