    • From Bolivia to La Isla with Childfree Latina Bianca Alba

Ep 92 - Imagine immigrating to the US as a child, becoming a public health servant, and landing in Puerto Rico during a Zika outbreak. For eldest daughter and first gen Latina Bianca Alba, that's simply been her life thus far.

As the host of This Latina Travels, Bianca inspires all of us to voyage beyond our comfort zone and explore the rest of this huge world. Settling in Puerto Rico was intentional because she finally found "home."

While la Isla del Encanto has many, many challenges—and has even impacted Bianca's decision to remain childfree—the beauty of its culture is unchallenged. Listen as Bianca takes us through how she ended up in PR, what keeps here there, the unspoken expectations to have it all figured out, her new life pivot, and how her childfree wedding planning is going.

    • Who's Going to Take Care of You When You're Old: A Childfree Bingo
      Jul 15 2025

Wanna share your thoughts? Send a text!

Have you ever played childfree bingo? If you're a childfree person, then the answer is probably, sadly, yes.

But for the uninitiated, childfree bingo is a snarky reaction to the irritatingly recurrent questions and responses we receive when we reveal we don't have or want kids. They're so frequent and common that we can reliably check them off a bingo card, if we wanted to.

To be clear, no one enjoys playing this game. It's a stupid game with stupid prizes.

A super common bingo is the question: who will take care of you when you're old?

What's wrong with this question? Don't we have a moral obligation to take care of our elders?

Let's examine where that particular bingo comes from and how we should be thinking about end of life care instead.

Want your own bingo card? Check out this one from Reddit.

    • For Love or Clients with Childfree Latina Mafe Salazar
      Jul 1 2025

Wanna share your thoughts? Send a text!

What's it like to be both a childfree Latina and a Venezuelan transplant to the Great White North?

Mafe Salazar knows a little something about that. Even though she might be in the "tourist season" of her entrepreneurial journey, Mafe shares how moving from Venezuela to Canada, navigating the challenges of immigration, and transitioning from a stable accounting career to the more creative world of podcasting has shaped how she moves through life.

As her podcast From Tourist to Local has evolved, so has its host. Moving from simply surviving onto thriving, Mafe opens up about the pivotal moments that led her to pursue podcasting full-time, from losing her job (and identity) to realizing the power she derives from community and self-expression.

For love or for clients, this fur mom is no longer afraid to embrace bold—and maybe slightly controversial—ideas about love and life.

To get the full show notes, and an episode transcript, go to PauletteErato.com/shownotes. This is episode 90.

      About Mafe:

Mafe Salazar is the podcast alchemist who turns up the heat on your show, so you get seen, trusted, and PAID.

A Venezuelan transplant in Vancouver, she traded corporate life for a mic (and a well-timed ¡coño!). Controversial as arepa origins (Venezuela, obvio), she helps clients ignite their voice, while sharing her own journey on From Tourist to Local: a podcast about the messy, magical reinvention of starting over. Mafe invites listeners to own their magic: that unshakable truth of who you are when you stop shrinking and start showing up.
