Description
Tearoom sleuth Gemma Rose is looking forward to a holiday filled with delicious Yuletide treats, time with friends and family, and maybe even a "white Christmas" in Oxford. But when she's snowed in at a country manor, she finds herself stumbling on a puzzling murder, complete with a body in the library, a house full of suspects, and a trail of mysterious footprints!
Luckily, the nosy old Biddies are on hand to help, not to mention her cheeky tabby cat Muesli. Add in some carol singing, Christmas baking, and flannel underwear, and Gemma's stocking is bursting at the seams.
Can she solve this festive whodunnit in time to enjoy the most wonderful time of year?

Perfect Holiday Cozy. er...Purrfect
I had read the Kindle version and scooped up this Audible version. Same excellent story and great characters but with the addition of the amazing Narrator who brings the characters and Muesli to life made it a different yet equally enjoyable read. I had a choked up moment near the end when a certain shelter cat appeared. Thank you both for a wonderful holiday entertainment.

Too much adult content -
I have very much enjoyed previous books in the Oxford Tearoom series, and have recommended them to others. But it seems to have strayed from its original premise.
First of all, I will say that I cannot fault the reader - Pearl Hewitt is excellent, and a pleasure to listen to.
In this Christmas mystery, Gemma, owner of the Little Stables Tearoom, caters a party at a country house, and gets stuck there when a snowstorm hits. While she is there, a murder takes place, which she and her friends, the indomitable and somewhat wacky "Old Biddies" attempt to solve.
Several of the original characters do make appearances, although minor. In previous books, I felt one of the strengths of the stories came from the relationships between Gemma and her friends Cassie and Seth, and her boyfriend Devlin. Devlin and Seth make token appearances, and Cassie not at all. Closed for the holidays, the charm of the tearoom and its Cotswolds setting, one of the most enjoyable aspects of previous books, is missing.
This book seems to follow a formula: all the suspects are together in one house - each has a possible motive - and at the end, Gemma gathers them all together in one room, much like Agatha Christie's Poirot or Miss Marple (and the detectives on the TV show Death in Paradise) and proceeds to identify the murderer.
But what I disliked most about this story were the adult situations and language. The Amazon description clearly states: "Clean read: no graphic violence, sex, or strong language." Unfortunately, that is not true. There are several instances of language, more than one incident of groping, one mentioning the fact that the woman's shirt was unbuttoned. Promiscuity, adultery, and homosexuality are also included in the plot. not to mention a scene in which two men are found in bed together.
Because of this, I will not share this book with my daughters or recommend it to my friends. For me it was a very disappointing offering in this formerly enjoyable series.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Great book for the holidays!
I am glad that a new book if this serie was released. It is my favorite cozy mystery series. I loved how Jemma has grown and is more confident in her detective skills and the old biddies participation made the book more fun. It was perfect.

Was exactly what I was looking for in a Christmas book. And very well narrated. Love the characters and feel. Excited to find a new set of books to dive into.

BEST STORIES EVER WRITTEN!!!!!!!
So Delightfully Fun to have a Special Christmas story!! I Love every book and story you have written. Holding my breath for your new Garden story! I listen to all my books. Therefore I only get to know about the three....Tea Room...Chocolate...and Garden. I see you have some with a dog. I would love to be able to enjoy those!
Hopefully Pearl Hewitt will read them someday!
I am so spoiled by her amazingly wonderful narrating I have a hard time being able to listen to any other books now. I have hundreds in my library but now all the narrator's are terribly boring. I'm so hopeful you write Many more books and Ms. Hewitt will narrate them all!! I hope others will get her to narrate their books!!
Thank you for sharing your website. I have never been a "fan" of any author until I was fortunate enough to find you. Im 70 years old!! You my dear has brought a shinning light in my life!
Sincerely, Nancy

Always a pleasure!
This series just gets better and better! The mystery, the desserts, the fun and interesting characters... I can’t get enough of HY Hanna’s Oxford Tea Room Mystery series!! In addition to the lovely novels themselves, she couldn’t have found a better narrator than Pearl Hewitt, whose accent and tone set the stage perfectly for this series to come alive in the most comforting and delightful way!! And, as a lover of Christmas, I particularly enjoyed this addition to the series. And this book gives me hope for more romance in the next installment! <<crossing fingers!!>>
