    Description

James McGill is called upon for a sabotage mission, one that only a man of his unique talents can handle. Unfortunately, he performs too well, and our enemies from Rigel are enraged. They come for us, and war is declared.

Both sides call for aid, and it comes from the Core Worlds in the form of two great fleets. The Civil War for the Empire’s Throne spills out into the provinces. In the center of Galaxy, fantastic fleets crush one another and burn thousands of inhabited worlds. When this conflict between the great powers spreads, humanity finds itself swept up in the storm.

Can McGill escape this disaster he’s created? Find out in Clone World, the 12th book of the Undying Mercenaries series. With over three million copies sold, author B. V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

    Why am I still here

Its my own fault and I know it. Same story as the last 11 books, simple farm boy Mcgill some how out smarts the rest of the galaxy and saves the day while womanizing everything in sight. Time filler and background noise while working from home.

    Another Home-Run

This is my favorite ongoing series. I look forward to every release and this one did not disappoint! In fact, this might be the best James McGill yarn yet. I can't wait for the next one!

    Same plot, different location..

I'm not sure why I continue to read this other than to hope McGill will some day get promoted over the nonsense or defect. If really broken down, this is terrible sci fi. Yet I keep reading because there is so much potential here if the author would just slow down and do some proper character building. I see comparisons to diGris, but I'm not seeing it. But the potential to draw close to that cult classic series is there. But for now, characters are too 1 dimensional and the whole series is stuck in a rut. McGill's womanizing would be as entertaining as diGris' if the women actually brought something to the table besides dim witted jealousy and cookie cutter personalities. McGill's arch nemesis is stuck with the same scripted dialogue of 5 or 6 lines he's been using since he was introduced. Leadership moves from one contrived blame game to the next without an ounce of suspension of disbelief.

But I keep reading... It's time for McGill to take over or go freelance, because this stick has been stuck in the mud for too long.

Mark, by the way, is awesome at narrating this series. Nearly every character is given their own voice so you always know who is talking without needing a cue.

Probably the best in the series

It's great to see the characters & story to mature so. One could argue the series is moving from teenage fantasy to adult level. As things heat up in the story's galaxy, the humans continue their struggle for survival despite being outgunned and behind in technology. McGill is at his best while his family evolve as well. This kept me up at night, gripped by the story.

BV keep spinning a great tale

sometimes when you're on book 12 you might think the story will get stale oh, but this is still another great tale of ole James McGill

the cast of characters continue to evolve except for maybe Carlos. I am looking forward to continued intrigue

I'm growing bored of this series,

It's almost like the last few books have the same story, just in different places. There has really been no more growth. Honestly I've been waiting for James and Galina's relationship to progress. I've enjoyed the series but nothing really has happened for awhile now. If that does not change I doubt I will continue with the series much longer.

Personally I would like to see James and Galina forced into a situation where they must depend on each other. I would be ok with isolating the story just to them for a book. Perhaps a crash leaving them stranded and in enemy territory. Forcing them to work and trust each other. This would give an opportunity to deal with their feelings with each other. Having them as a united front would be a formidable team. It would open us up to see strategic planning, what goes into the actual operation then the execution of the operation. Not to mention the emotions which goes into putting loved ones in harms way.

This book was ok but not as good as the previous books. I hope the next ones are better. I've really liked this series.

Another great addition to the Arc

This is another great addition to the Undying Mercs Series. It balances the personal, vs overall galactic scale story's well.

    Better than ever

James McGill is the new James Bolivar diGriz. Not since Harry Harrison have we been entertained so thoroughly.
