Looks like half a book
The book is missing the story?
Many totally repeating themes. A money maker?

Where is the story going.
Loved the book and the story but, I’m look for the main character to grow. He keeps getting into the same scenario. For a time it was getting good because he was moving up in rank but now his growth is stagnant.

What was the point?
The series is great, this book is like, huh? There plot seems non-existent, just a bunch of short issues tossed together. It really feels like a rushed money grab rather than any meaningful contribution to the franchise. I'd love to see James advance in rank, develop as a leader, and stop getting arrested every 30 minutes, sleeping with the same 5 girls, going awol over and over, etc. Just utterly predictable. Might be my last buy in this series. :(

why?
don't agree with the writers choices in this one.. making up shifty situations for no reason, and didn't progress the story.

so many mistakes
I should have quit this series a couple books ago. Everything is recorded but no record when it's convenient, people that were known traders are in positions of power, moon size aliens don't have enough brain power to match the shape of the legion ship with known enemies, and the list goes on.

another great story by the master
as far as I'm concerned although bv larson spins a funny action filled yarn mark Boyett gave McGill his personality Boyett brings these characters to life. this is definitely a collaboration

Mark Boyett is a beast, storyline is falling off
I’ve enjoyed this storyline for years now but, it’s like repetitive narratives have taken over the matrix at this point. Because I’ve enjoyed it so much, I am giving B.V. one more credit spent on this series and then I’m done. Similar to what happened with his Star Force series or whatever happened to Rebel Force (still sad/annoyed he let that one die so early on); he gets an idea, really likes it, and then beats it into the ground so hard it turns into a bloody mess no one is sure what it use to be.
One more shot and then I give up.
Edit: one thing to notice, +11,000 people rated Steel World highly in most cases, now we’re at book 15 and not quite 2,800 rated at all and a not small amount basically give the same review as above. Sad.

I know these stories aren't very long or deep, but I've enjoyed most of them a lot. Nothing important it's interesting at all happened in this book. Maybe it's time to let it go.

Plots are becoming a bit tired
Mark Boyett’s narration was as excellent as ever. Unfortunately he didn’t have much to work with as the plot seemed cobbled together out of left-over bits.
Also, new adventures were cut-short as if Larson couldn’t bring himself to develop them: the pursuit across the Skay sector to the other side was dealt with in a sentence - « We went the long way around and returned to earth 6-months later »; then McGill being handed over to the Skay after his trial - « Claver did it. Oh, I’ll send you back to earth then. Thanks ».
Might be time to perm McGill. 😞

feels like the same book over an ocer
it's a great story, great writing and an outstanding performance. it just feels like it's the same story over and over again. I probably should have quit 3 books ago but I always get the next one. I might be done now though.
