    Description

Raising a bright and happy child starts during pregnancy and early infancy, when small changes can have a big impact on brain development.

By taking advantage of this golden window of opportunity - when millions of new brain cells are formed every single day - you can help support your child’s IQ, language development, memory, attention span, and emotional regulation. Importantly, the same strategies that nurture these cognitive abilities can also help reduce the odds of autism and ADHD, conditions that now impact 1 in 10 children.

Brain Health from Birth is your guide to this new scientific frontier, explaining which key nutrients may be missing from your prenatal supplement, how to reduce the odds of preterm birth, what to look for in a formula, how to support your baby’s microbiome, and much more.

With contributions from leading obstetricians and pediatricians, science writer Rebecca Fett (author of the best-selling fertility book It Starts with the Egg) brings you practical advice you can start applying today to help your baby thrive.

Brain Health From Birth is a book that should be read by every obstetrician, pediatrician, or woman considering pregnancy. It provides current consolidated knowledge on how to achieve the optimal neurodevelopment of the child to be. I highly recommend this book to all interested in optimal pregnancy outcomes." (Dr. Bruce W Hollis, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, Department of Pediatrics)

Most helpful book I have read so far!

As an expecting first time father, I am doing what I do with anything I don't know: supplementing my lack of knowledge with a heavy dose of audiobooks. As an engineer, I approach things logically and want the facts given to me, free of emotion. This is one of the few books on parenting that does just this. Most friends I know who have already taken the plunge have gone in empty handed. My biggest fear is that I will damage my child from my own naive stupidity. Every chapter of this book took my nativity and empowered me with the knowledge to make sound decisions in the upcoming years. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It's also one of the few books on parenting that isn't read by someone talking in baby speak. I'm a grown man, you don't need to change my tone like I'm an upset infant. Thank you to Melinda Wade for the wonderful narration!

    Outstanding!

Just as with her last book, It Starts with the Egg, Rebecca Fett informs on critical topics and offers evidence-based insights for child rearing. Every time I read one of her books, I feel informed and empowered! Easy to listen and absorb, this book did not disappoint for this mother-to-be. Thanks Rebecca, keep on writing!

    🤖 Robotic Narration

The narrator speaks in a robotic manner. It's tough to get through, but the information is worth it. I think I'll also buy the physical book, for referencing later.

    This is a wonderful book.

This book includes some great information for new mothers. It discusses what to avoid and what to focus on. If you are not yet pregnant, I highly recommend her book “It Starts With The Egg”.

    Enlightened

A must read for all mothers to be. I’ve learned a lot of things that even my mother wouldn’t know. In today’s world full of chemicals, plastic and heavy metals it’s important to understand what things to avoid to help your children brain.
