A strong story and very well narrated

The story has depth with multiple trails will interlaced without overwhelming the reader. The narration was superb. Both character voices and wonderful inflection. The best way to describe it. you forget your own world and you live in this one

Meandering Tale, weak characters

Any additional comments?

While I did listen to the whole thing, I found myself getting annoyed by characters who repeatedly say they must be "ever vigilant" because the villain is out to get them, are never vigilant. Not only that, but they are met everywhere they go by "agents of the villain" that seem to know everything about them, even though they would have no possible way of having the information. For instance; early on, the hero leaves his home with ONE other person, and along the road they meet an elf, and eventually the one other person's servant finds them. Yet the next town they come to, they're met by someone who knows all of them...by NAME. I grew tired of the enemy being all seeing, all knowing, and having machinations set with no possible way of having the knowledge he was privvy to. And despite the all powerful enemy, I never once felt that there was any chance of them failing at anything. Everything just comes too easy to the heroes who rarely do anything truly heroic. They just sort of move along till the next thing happens, and then through some sort of Deus Ex Machina, overcome it.

The setting is interesting, as is the take on magic, but not enough to overcome the characters and plot.

The narration is done well, although I had a hard time at times understanding the character names, as he tends to swallow his opening or ending of names. Gewey, Huey, Gewin...it took me about 1/2 the first book to figure his name was Gewey. It's the same for many of the other characters. Also, many of the voices, especially for the male characters sound very much alike to the point that sometimes I was unable to understand who was talking until the narration of the book stated it. The read was able to keep me engaged though, so that was a good point.

After listening to the first three books, I just don't know if I care enough about the characters to listen or read any more. Especially when I know, through some sort of fiat, the heroes will just stumble to the win.

Very fun YA Fantasy

What made the experience of listening to The Godling Chronicles Omnibus the most enjoyable?

The narrator did really well and the characters in the novel were well done. By the end of the 3rd book I really start to like Gewy and his love interest especially.

What other book might you compare The Godling Chronicles Omnibus to and why?

Eragon, or "Inheritance Series" because it has the young adult/teen feel to it with good storytelling that makes them a real "page turner". "Percy Jackson Series" because of the part God.

What does Derek Perkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His narration was good and he did the characters well. He had great flow and really kept the story engaging.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes Gods can come in Gewy packages.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed these books. The pace was steady and the characters are good. At first a few are dumb and slow, but that is typical in Fantasy especially. They all grow well, and as always, the females always seem smarter than the men. Overall a good read, and I would recommend it to Teens and Young Adults who love Fantasy and don't mind the use of "Elves". =)

Love this trilogy.

Fantastic fantasy for someone that enjoys fantasy with powerful hero's and dark addvisarys. Both of which grow and continue to matriculate throughout this awesome story.

Pleasantly Surprised

The story was very engaging. I really appreciated the relationship between the characters. Can't wait to listen to books 4, 5 & 6.

The Godling Chronicles

Where does The Godling Chronicles Omnibus rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top half.

What other book might you compare The Godling Chronicles Omnibus to and why?

Got me?

Which character – as performed by Derek Perkins – was your favorite?

Lee Starfinder.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This would be a very challenging to make a film of, definitely a big budget project.

Any additional comments?

Hmmm, for the last book of a trilogy this felt like just a warm up to what follows. I must say this is a good series but not great. I feel that the reborn king remains far too distant so far as a brooding and near invisible presence. We shall see where this goes next. Of course including the prologue and first chapter of book four was a every clever move.

Next lord of the rings

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This is great I’m only at chapter 7 and totally addicted. This should be made into a movie that could be similar to LOTR but with different actors. I highly recommend this audiobook
