Alana Morgan has never truly belonged anywhere. After her parents died when she was 15, she'd been sent to live in the UK with an aunt and uncle who had no time for her. Now, she's studying at a university in Wales with no close friends and only her well-loved fantasy books for company. But, when she agrees to a rare night out, she meets a handsome, red-haired Welshman with a dangerous secret that will change her life forever.

Alana is convinced that she is falling in love with Llewellyn Couch. She is also convinced that there are things about his family, about this mysterious ritual, and about himself that he is not telling her. He still refuses to touch her, though she can tell that he wants to as much as she wants to feel him. She knows that there is a reason for his self-denial, just as there is a reason she is not permitted to wander the manor grounds alone. She knows that the Clan harbors a dangerous and potentially deadly secret.
