Glory Seeker

After an accident, Laran wakes up in a strange fantasy world governed by a System, with his only knowledge coming from his fiery tutorial assistant, Toot, a faerie who is more snarky than helpful. Even worse, the Undying Empire is hunting him for reasons he doesn’t understand. That means hordes of undead soldiers, dark assassins lurking in every shadow, and worse. The good news is that apparently he is considered a Glory Seeker here, meaning he's able augment almost anything he does by using points of Glory, a resource earned through actions in the world—heroic or villainous.

Despite defeating the empire's ghoul commander, Laran is still hunted by the Undying Empire. The Master of Ten Thousand Bones sends hordes of skeletal animals and warrior to kill him and take the mysterious Vestige he recovered from the Pit of the Sleeping Gods. The emperor's bonewalker hunts Laran and the tauran warrior Daisy at every turn. Which would be par for the course if the rats of the city weren't also rising up, rebelling against his all too effective traps.

In the Undying Empire's continued, remorseless pursuit of Laran, they sent a new, deadly enemy. The patchwork men. Assembled from the parts of dead warriors and brutal beasts, these monsters are the deadliest Laran has faced. And if that wasn't bad enough, a mysterious woman offers to heal his paralyzed legs by making him a patchwork man himself. Laran continues his fight against the lich emperor and his search for the cryptic Vestiges that grant him system breaking abilities.
