Hudson Powell and Tory Bellona scour the galaxy for priceless alien artefacts found inside wrecked starships called Revocaters. Once the guardians of life in the universe, the Revocaters were destroyed by a super-powered AI, known as Goliath. Thwarted before it could finish its task, Goliath has now returned to fulfil its purpose, and wipe out all sentient life in the universe.

With Morphus still absent on her mysterious expedition, a surprise request from an old ally sets the star scavengers on a path to developing a new weapon against Goliath. And it sees them doing what they do best–hunting for crystals of power inside alien wrecks.

With both Morphus and Goliath travelling the galaxy, each looking for a way to defeat the other, the star scavengers, Hudson Powell and Tory Bellona, find themselves alone and fighting for their lives. Still licking their wounds after the events on Caccini Two, they are left with no time to recover before the Council arrive to repay Hudson and Tory for the trouble they’ve caused. On the run, with bounties on their heads both from the crime consortium and the Children of Goliath, led by Hudson’s long-time adversary, Logan Griff, they are forced to hide out inside the Revocaters.

Thirty-three-year-old game designer Dex Walsh spends an entire year devoured by sorrow after the death of his wife. As a last-ditch effort to regain his joy, he sells everything and joins Overtaken Online. Expecting to spawn in a noob-friendly area with guidance from his personal assistant, he instead finds himself naked and alone in a dark prison cell rapidly filling with gas.
