    • Carrie Lu Interview for Women Who Push the Limits
      Jan 19 2022

Lynn Murphy interviews Carrie Lu, a woman who pushes the limits. Carrie tells about her family moving to the US when she was 10 years old and did not speak a word of English. She shares her fascinating and inspiring story of her journey through education to her work in the corporate world, a world that did not share her values. She started her real estate career just as the market crashed in 2007-2008. With her creative solutions to challenges, strong values, positive mindset, and desire to serve others, Carrie has built a successful career which she loves.

Carrie is a residential Realtor® with Signature Real Estate Group SW in Las Vegas. Prior to entering real estate in 2007, she spent eight years in corporate America in a variety of roles—engineering consultant, financial consultant for companies including AT&T and Deutsche Bank, financial manager at Prudential Financial, and vice president at Citibank. Carrie has a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Rutgers. During her off-time, she is active in local animal rescue organizations. She loves cats, and has fostered over 100 abandoned and homeless kittens and adult cats.

    • Victoria Valentino Interview for Women Who Push the Limits
      Dec 1 2021

Victoria Valentino is a keynote speaker and media personality. She shares her journey as a multi-rape survivor, sex trafficking survivor, and vintage Playboy centerfold, all before she was 22.

In this interview, Victoria discusses how her struggles led her to find sanity and healing, discover her true voice, empower herself to speak her truth and fulfill her life’s purpose.

She moved on to become an actress, talk show host, writer, singer, dairy goat farmer, and registered nurse. She home-birthed her youngest daughter while living on the farm.

Victoria is most widely known as a major media voice and outspoken survivor of sexual assault by Bill Cosby. She is raising the consciousness about rape culture and transformational healing through her work as an ambassador for several organizations including Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment (PAVE), Hope Pyx Global for sex trafficking, and the Never Walk Alone Foundation. She helped promote a law to abolish the statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault in California, which became effective January 1, 2017.

Recently, she lent her voice to a campaign by Joyce Short’s Consent Awareness Network (CAN) to pass into law a New York Senate Bill establishing a legal definition of consent as Freely Given, Knowledgeable and Informed Agreement.

    • Laura Jaramillo Interview for Women Who Push the Limits
      Nov 16 2021

Today’s interview is with the remarkably talented singer and songwriter Laura Jaramillo who believes music can be therapy. Safety is one of the key issues we discuss—their escape from the violence of their home in Colombia when they were only four, feeling safe as their authentic self, and the challenges of finding safe and empowering places for the LGBTQIA+ community to gather and thrive. You’ll love Laura’s enthusiastic passion for music and life, and be inspired by all the ways they’ve pushed the limits.

Lauralite was born in Cali, Colombia. They are an entrepreneur, immersive event and media production professional, Airbnb management specialist, and consciousness mentor. At age four, they moved to the United States with their family, hoping to escape the violence and turmoil that permeated the area and seeking political asylum as a refugee. They wrote their first song at 8 years old, and haven’t given up on the dream since. Their upcoming, 7-song debut E.P, Everything That's Wrong with Me, highlights the journey of learning to truly and unconditionally love oneself. Determined to promote self-positivity, their free-spirited personality, and radiant vocals help to soothe the soul and encourage self-healing, all the while reminding listeners that, “It's OK to not be OK, but it's not OK to stay that way.” In 2020, they co-founded the Please Evolve Foundation and started the Please Bloom Initiative branch, an organization navigating the future of LGBTQ+ progress by building spaces curated for our empowerment and success.
