  • Movement is Medicine
    Sep 28 2025

Today's episode is a shout out about how wonderful physical movement is for the mind the body and the spirit. Movement truly is medicine and Motion truly is lotion. Healing begins with a little sweat.

For those who worry about pain, body image, fitness and joy, finding a way of moving can be a struggle, but with the greatest kindness, I urge you to do just that.

From the artist that creates a soundtrack to create to.

To the gardener in a high rise that potters about with houseplants.

To the factory worker on their morning walk to work with favourite music on headphones.

To the commuter on the tube taking the steps.

2 left feet can still have a right to dance.

Dance, stroll, wheel, play, climb, crawl if you haven't already.

Maybe you'll find your tribe. Maybe you'll start your tribe. It's never too late or too early.

Today's show was made with less noise because of http://github.com/Rikorose/DeepFilterNet and open source software. Many thanks :-)

  • Different settings for complementary therapists
    Jul 19 2025
In this episode I will outline the different settings for working in complementary therapies. If you are a prospective client who would like to find a complementary therapist, this show will help you understand the settings that they may serve within. For the fledgling complementary therapists out there, this show is a nice reminder of possible settings you might like to explore. Let's not get it twisted, sometimes when you think you're getting a job, you're actually being asked to be self employed within someone elses business whether mobile or onsite as a affiliate. Food for thought eh? You will need to learn how to do your accounts. Obligations to be insured and keep updating CPD. It is advised that you are a member of a professional association. (I'm with FHT) On a more personal front you'll hear news of how recent refurbishments on my work site have a knock on effect to my massage business, Pendulum Massage. Shownotes and info for your delight and delectation. My massage website You can always see what I do and how I do it here. This weeks episode presented by Pauline Blackwood of Pendulum Massage is rooted in representation, cultural competence, trauma informed practice and ancestrial wisdom.

This show is a call to arms for black complementary therapists to investigate deeply how they can serve their community more deeply. Instictively in most cases this is being done already. Now it may be time to refresh and deepen your offering.

I did a little research to put together this episode.
