  • Secrets in the Surf: Coastal Gothic, Megalophobia and Maritime Ghosts
    Aug 15 2026

The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.

When an unexpected guest cancellation leaves the studio quiet, host Sylvana steps up to the microphone alone for an intimate, deeply atmospheric journey into her own creative sanctuary. Stepping into her author alter ego, Raven Starfenne, she takes us on a dark voyage along Western Australia’s treacherous "Shipwreck Coast."

Beyond the postcard summer beaches and blinding sunshine lies a cold, wintery coastal gothic landscape, a world of ink black waters, isolated seaside towns and ancient maritime tragedy.

  • The Physical Vessels: Cinema, Dark Aesthetics, and the Unseen with Victoria Ferrara
    Aug 8 2026

The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.

Tonight on Slightly Out of Frame, we move from the atmospheric thresholds of Western Australian architecture to the uncanny architecture of the human canvas. We are joined by AACTA accredited Australian actress and internationally published alternative model Victoria Ferrara.

From her memorable comedic turn as Angie on the Logie Award winning series Housos, to working behind the digital veil in a full body morph suit for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, and stepping onto major international sets like Thor: Love and Thunder and Pacific Rim: Uprising, Victoria has spent her career shape shifting across an extraordinary spectrum of performance and dark visual aesthetic.

  • Ink, Monsters, and the Void: World-Building with A.P. Fuchs
    Aug 1 2026

The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.

Tonight on Slightly Out of Frame, we transition from the haunted, historic architecture of the past to the ink-stained corridors of independent creation. We are joined by prolific Canadian author, publisher, and cartoonist A.P. Fuchs for a deep dive into the solitary ritual of world-building.

Broadcasting straight out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, A.P. Fuchs has been a fiercely independent force since 2004, penning and illustrating over forty books and comics including his superhero epic The Axiom-man Saga and the grit-infused zombie trilogy Undead World.

  • The Ancient Hollows: Ozark Superstition and Mountain Magic with Matt Ankney
    Jul 24 2026

The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.

Tonight on Slightly Out of Frame, we step across the threshold into an ancient, watchful landscape steeped in memory. We are joined by photographer, writer, digital creator, and wilderness guide Matt Ankney for a journey into the deep hollows of the Ozarks.

Together, we explore the thin, blurry line where mountain superstitions, old-world religion, and traditional hill magic bleed into one another. Matt shares his perspective as both a storyteller and a guide—looking closely at how rugged topography holding centuries of secrets acts as a literal pipeline for creative inspiration, and how the unseen entities lurking in isolated woods infiltrate the very structure of a story.

  • The Eternal Threshold: The Flame and the Alchemy of Margot Day
    Jul 17 2026

The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.

Tonight on Slightly Out of Frame, we travel across geographic and spiritual boundaries to explore the thin lines between historical tragedy, transformation and modern audio magic.

We begin the shift in Switzerland, journeying to the Alpine town of Glarus to look into the heartbreaking history of Anna Göldi, wrongfully executed in 1782 as the last "witch" in Europe. We trace her story from the abuse of patriarchal power to the eternal, symbolic memorial flame that still burns continuously outside the Glarus courthouse today.

Then, we cross the threshold into a deep conversation with the legendary Margot Day, front person of the iconic 80s goth band Plague and the driving force behind Metamorph. We explore what it means to craft multi-layered musical incantations and whether a song can function as a literal spell thrown out into the world.

In tonight’s episode, host Sylvana shares a chilling personal encounter with a sorrowful phantom violin echoing from a barricaded school turret room.

Then, we sit down in the late night studio with Sigmund from the dark avant-garde duo Inner Missing. While dissecting Victorian dark romanticism and shadow work we explore how the paranormal and the liminal can actively dictate, influence and inspire art.
