The shift is open. Pour yourself something warm and dim the lights.
Tonight on Slightly Out of Frame, we turn our eyes inland away from the coast to step directly into the sunbaked, haunting frequency of Australian Gothic.
Unlike European gothic narratives defined by crumbling castles and foggy cobblestones, Australian Gothic finds its terror in the crushing sun, hypnotic heat haze, and the uncanny, indifferent silence of an ancient bushland. Stepping into her author alter ego, Raven Starfenne, host Sylvana explores how the landscape itself becomes an antagonist, distorting human psychology and reminding us how fragile our architecture remains against the vastness of the continent of Australia.
