  • The One Question That Changes Everything: Finding Your Real Why
    Aug 26 2025

I asked a client why he wanted to lose 20 pounds. 'To be healthy,' he said. By the fifth time I asked 'why,' we finally got to his real reason - and everything changed. In this deeply personal episode, I open up about my own journey finding my why through daily journaling, what I stand for (becoming your best self) and what I stand against (fear-mongering fitness BS). I share my foolproof 5-question method to dig past surface-level goals like 'lose weight' to find the powerful reasons that will actually keep you going when motivation fails. Plus, why 'looking amazing on my wedding day' beats 'being healthy' every single time.

  • The Triangle Approach: Why You're Overthinking Fat Loss with Bob Hoover
    Aug 19 2025

Bob Hoover joins me on this episode of the Simply Fitness Podcast! We totally geeked out over how we both fell for those insane bodybuilder programs that never worked for normal humans like us.

Bob's crushing it with everyday people who want to lose fat and get strong – not elite athletes. His "triangle" approach is genius: nutrition at the top, activity and strength training at the base, with consistency tying it all together.

We got deep about how fitness teaches you to "fail forward." Bob shared his own keto struggles and how deadlifting 225 pounds builds confidence that carries over to EVERYTHING in life. The mental game is real!

We go over so many great topics today! Let me know which one helped you the most!

  • The Energy Paradox: Why Exercise Gives You More Energy (Not Less)
    Aug 12 2025

Ever drag yourself through the day thinking "I'm too tired to work out"? Yeah, me too – especially at 5 AM when that alarm goes off. But here's what blew my mind: the days I felt most exhausted were actually the days I moved the least. Today I'm breaking down what I call the Energy Paradox – this counterintuitive truth that the less you move, the more tired you become.

I'm busting the myth that your body works like a phone battery (spoiler: it doesn't), explaining how movement literally builds more energy factories in your cells, and why sitting all day drains you more than a 20-minute workout ever could. Plus, I'm sharing my 2-minute rule for when you feel too beat to exercise, why that lunch break walk is better than your afternoon coffee, and the difference between "good tired" and "bad tired."

If you think you're too exhausted to start exercising, this one's for you. Trust me – you're not saving energy by skipping workouts. You're actually losing it.
