You might want to reconsider what you ask your personal, virtual assistant to “just do” for you. As the boys discuss in this week’s episode, sometimes your well-meaning Siri can just get it plain wrong - or in cj’s case, plane wrong! We suspect this “Siri poisoning” will continue to be a thing, just like the DNS poisoning of yesteryear, and the more current AI poisoning plaguing training data today.

But before Jeff gets a chance to revel in cj’s naivety, the boys discuss more FCC fines (yay!), Dorsey leaving Bluesky (meh), and TikTok suing the US to prevent their sale-or-ban future (boo!).

And ferrous friendly letters, whatever that means!

Wowzers, did you know there was a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE this week?! Well, if you are one of the three people in North America who DIDN’T know this happened on Monday, the guys will get you caught up with their eclipse antics in the first 15 minutes of today’s episode!

Somehow they do find a couple minutes to talk about a couple of fun headlines from this week, including Boeing’s latest headache (a whistleblower on the 787 Dreamliner) and Waymo’s robotaxi service is finally green-lit in Los Angeles!

And instead of highlighting “the best thing they’ve seen or read this week” (the best thing both cj & Jeff had seen this week was certainly the total solar eclipse!), they instead opt to answer two fantastic questions sent in via voice message from a Nonsense listener! Thanks PG!

  • The Headlines That Got Away
    Apr 4 2024
We know you love our coverage of current headlines, so do not fret, dear listener. On this week’s episode, we continue with that time-honored tradition with Amazon canceling Go (😢) and Apple nixing the FTC Chair from The Problem. Fun times! Now, if you like our headlines coverage, then this episode is the one for you! Where we would normally entertain you with a segment on canola oil or the story of MIT’s infamous “Magic/More-Magic Switch,” in this episode we’ve decided instead to dust off some older headlines that we never got around to discussing but still thought you’d enjoy. So this week: double the fun, and double the pleasure! While technically this episode is another one of our “Headlines Only” episodes, it does come with a bit of a twist this time. And if you don’t care much for the headlines, we got you, fam! • A Total Eclipse of the … Heart?
    Mar 28 2024
As you probably know, some folks will experience a total eclipse right here in North America on April 8th. Seeing that both of our hosts are traveling toward the path of totality for this epic, lifelong-memory, bucket-list experience, we thought it timely to discuss some eclipse generalities and specifics in this episode. The hope is to educate you on AND encourage you to witness this year's spectacular event in some form. And speaking of large, immovable objects crossing paths - we touch briefly on the DoJ’s recent anti-trust litigation against our good friends at Apple - always a topic that our hosts agree on quickly.
