  • SucSeeding with Emily
    Apr 27 2026

In this episode, Emily shares how her plans of leaving Newfoundland for somewhere like Wall Street evolved when she became CEO of Sucseed, a social enterprise venture formed in Enactus, at Memorial University. She talks about the real issue of food insecurity and how her family’s farming roots led her in that direction. She also talks about her positions with CIBC, the Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship, and on various boards (most of which are in male-dominated industries)

She gives some wisdom on starting a business, visiting 30 countries before 30, and experiencing life in developing countries. She also talks about her experience at speed dating, how she used to approach dating and how it has changed, and what she learned from seeing friends in the wrong relationships.

Also talking about women being financially in dependent and how “relationship capital is more valuable than financial capital ever will be”, and how success in all aspects of life can be measured by the simple question of do you love what you spend your time doing?

  • First Trimester Tips (Part Two)
    Apr 10 2026

The first part of this episode was on all the appointments in the first trimester, from finding out she was pregnant until getting her NIPT results at 12 weeks.

This episode is a follow up with everything Sarah purchased in the first trimester, while trying to avoid spending money on anything unnecessary. What is necessary during this time? Well. We are not holding back on any topics that may be TMI - this is pregnancy, not always glamorous.

Stay tuned for the next episode (usually bi-weekly) with Emily Bland of SucSeed and follow on socials @NewfoundHappyHour

  • Spark Your Growth with Hannah
    Mar 6 2026

In this episode Sarah chats with Hannah from Spark Your Growth and details her job as a trauma therapist and owning her own practice. She goes over a typical day for her, how she ended up in this career, and her time in Labrador. She also chats about how Spark Your Growth was actually started from a covid blog - similar to this podcast!

Getting into counselling or therapy can be overwhelming so if you feel that way, this episode will help give you some tips. Ending with a book recommendation, and of course some advice.

Stay tuned for the next bi-weekly episode, continuing my pregnancy journey and talking all about the first trimester @NewfoundHappyHour
