    Apr 27 2026

In this episode, Emily shares how her plans of leaving Newfoundland for somewhere like Wall Street evolved when she became CEO of Sucseed, a social enterprise venture formed in Enactus, at Memorial University. She talks about the real issue of food insecurity and how her family’s farming roots led her in that direction. She also talks about her positions with CIBC, the Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship, and on various boards (most of which are in male-dominated industries)

She gives some wisdom on starting a business, visiting 30 countries before 30, and experiencing life in developing countries. She also talks about her experience at speed dating, how she used to approach dating and how it has changed, and what she learned from seeing friends in the wrong relationships.

Also talking about women being financially in dependent and how “relationship capital is more valuable than financial capital ever will be”, and how success in all aspects of life can be measured by the simple question of do you love what you spend your time doing?

  • New Year, New.. Baby!
    Feb 20 2026

In the first episode of season 5 Sarah goes over some plans for the year - which now include giving birth and becoming a mother! She tells the story of her unplanned pregnancy and hiding it over the holidays.

"But wait, wasn't she always openly on the fence about having a baby?"

Yes, yes she was. She shares past thoughts on being childfree, and how she came to the decision of feeling ready enough. This is a full thought process of wrapping her head around becoming a parent, and how doing so does not mean she has to live a certain way, and how the ideas we have of our mothers and grandmothers motherhood does not have to be the same. A lot of this has to do with having the right partner!

Stay tuned for the next bi-weekly episode with Hannah from Spark Your Growth all about getting started with therapy/counselling
