Dr. Caitlin Hegwood, PhD, LPC (ID), LPC-S (AK), CPC (NV), MAC, CCTS-I, CYI, has served in many capacities during her career: educator, certified recovery coach, and counselor in the field of human services for over a decade. Dr. Hegwood has worked in various settings, from community mental health and residential treatment to private practice in Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Massachusetts, and Nevada. When working with clients, Dr. Hegwood combines clinical, evidenced-based addiction interventions with trauma-informed self-regulation techniques to reduce symptomatology, relapse potential, and recidivism. She blends her addiction treatment and leadership knowledge to create social change through her work as the Chief Clinical Officer at True North Recovery and owner of Elevate Wellness, LLC. She has been a representative and advocate for substance use treatment and services as a member of NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals, and volunteered as a Legislative Representative, President, and Past President of the Idaho Association of Addiction Professionals, a NAADAC Affiliate. She has also served on the South-Central Behavioral Health and Reducing Recidivism Board of Directors and is currently on the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Advisory Board for the State of Alaska. Dr. Hegwood’s publications include Developing Human Values in Adulthood in 2023 and contributions to the Clinical Supervision: An Overview of Functions, Processes, and Methodology Second Edition in 2024.
