  • Mel Blanc, known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices," was a legendary voice actor who was a prominent figure in Old Time Radio. Blanc was best known for his work on "The Jack Benny Program," one of the most popular and enduring radio shows of the era.
    Blanc's iconic characters on the show included Jack Benny's long-suffering and vain violin teacher, Professor LeBlanc, as well as a train conductor, a customs official, a racetrack tout, a parrot, and Benny's wise-cracking and gravel-voiced Maxwell car.
    Mel Blanc also voiced numerous other characters on various radio programs, including "The Mel Blanc Show," where he portrayed several recurring characters such as the dim-witted Mexican ranch hand Pedro, the lovable French housemaid Sylvester, and the crazed fix-it man Mr. Kitzel.
    Blanc's exceptional vocal talents and comedic timing made him one of the most sought-after voice actors in Hollywood. In addition to his radio work, Blanc went on to achieve great success in animation, providing the voices for iconic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and many others in Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoons.
