This week Erik and Aidan discus the first week of the 2025 Roland Garros tournament. First up, the tournament included some surprising upsets in the early rounds, with top players and two former finalists at the French Open being eliminated before round 3. This shows that the tour is truly changing and despite their young age these players may never again get a chance to win a Slam. Meanwhile, the Americans made a surprisingly good showing, with two through to the quarterfinals and many more making it through at least the first couple of rounds. A positive sign given the history of poor performance on clay. Finally, Djokovic, Alcaraz and Sinner have cruised so far, meaning the final few rounds could have exciting matchups sure to draw eyes to the sport.
