À propos de ce contenu audio

Hello and welcome to Confessions of a Disorderly Saint! Are you struggling to reconcile your faith with your sexual orientation? You’re not alone. This podcast explores the tension between LGBTQ+ identity and Christian faith. Hosted by John Mark, it covers Scripture, dogma, conscience, doctrine, personal testimony, and more. This is not an anti-Catholic or anti-Protestant podcast, but I will discuss non-traditional interpretations of Scripture and argue for the evolution of moral doctrine on sexuality. God made you this way; sexuality is a gift that enables you to express love.John Mark Christianisme Ministère et évangélisme Spiritualité

    • 04: My Encounter with Jesus and Reflection on Providence, Justification, and Sovereignty
      Aug 3 2025

In this episode, I share a personal story of my encounter with Jesus, the aftermath, and how it altered the course of my life. As a psychiatrist, I initially interpreted the experience as a psychiatric crisis. But over time, I came to believe it was, at least in part, a supernatural event.

I also reflect on key themes emphasized in Reformed theology, including providence, justification, and the sovereignty of God.

This is not an anti-Catholic podcast. However, I do provide non-traditional interpretations of Scripture and challenge tradition in a healthy way.

    • 03: Un-clobbering Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 on Homosexuality
      Jun 22 2025

No two passages in the Bible are wielded more often to condemn homosexuality than Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13. But what do these verses actually say in context? Are they condemning all same-sex relationships—or something else entirely, like incest, pederasty, or ritual sex tied to pagan worship?

In this episode, we explore how Scripture itself invites deeper reflection. We’ll examine Isaiah 43 and 56, Acts 10, and Jesus’s own words in the Gospels to ask how we should understand Levitical law today—and what it means to follow a God who is always doing something new.

    • 02: Deconstructing the Catechism's Doctrine on Homosexuality
      Jun 14 2025

Welcome to Confessions of a Disorderly Saint: A Queer Catholic Podcast! If you are struggling to reconcile your sexuality with your Catholic faith, you are not alone.

Today, I want to begin our journey of deconstructing the catechism's teaching on homosexuality by sharing with you an article titled "A House Divided." This article masterfully breaks down the contradictions and incoherent theology surrounding this issue. What does it mean for queer Catholics?
