      Dr. van Golen holds undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Psychology from Western Kentucky University and a PhD in Neuroscience from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

      Her career has focused on student success, including serving as the pre-health advisor, director of an NIH-funded training program, and teaching a variety of courses in Biological Sciences.

      In addition, she acts as a Khan Academy ambassador and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer.

      In this interview, we will explore Dr. van Golen's unique perspective on the intersection of neuroscience and poetry, and how these seemingly distinct fields can intertwine to enrich our understanding of the human mind and creative expression.
