    The LumberKings wrapped up a gritty and eventful 4–2 road trip, and Andrés Tejeda, Voice of the LumberKings, is riding solo to break it all down on this week’s episode of Around the Lumber Yard. From a weather-shortened win over the Pistol Shrimp to a doubleheader split in Springfield and a statement sweep in Burlington, the Kings showed toughness and tenacity on the road. The trip ended with a wild comeback that came up just short in extra innings — but not without fireworks.

    Andrés also announces our Week 2 Player and Pitcher of the Week, spotlighting standout performances that helped fuel the road success.

    Opening Week is in the books, and the Clinton LumberKings are off to a competitive start in the 2025 Prospect League season. Hosts Andrés Tejeda, the Voice of the LumberKings, and on-field host Chris Mickelson break down all the action from the first six games — from a dominant Opening Night shutout of the defending champion Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp to a gritty split with the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes and a tough pair of losses to the rival Burlington Bees.

    We also catch up with two LumberKings players — pitcher Jaqson Tejada and outfielder Brayden Mulkey — for a quick look inside their Opening Day experience and how they’re feeling after week one.
