À propos de cette écoute
In our debut episode of Spark Access we have the privilege of speaking to a great friend, Kenny Salvini. We talk about his life as a husband, a father, an advocate, and a traveler, all while living with quadriplegia. Kenny has dedicated himself to being a beacon of positivity for many wheelchair users.
Kenny is a deeply caring and active advocate for wheelchairs users in Washington state, and for the disability community in general. After a snow-skiing accident in 2004, he had to learn to navigate life as a quadriplegic. Kenny is a pillar of community for a vibrant group of wheelchair users in the Pacific Northwest. After meeting great mentors and learning how to "Do Life" as a wheelchair user, Kenny founded the Here and Now Project.
The Here and Now Project connects and empowers the paralysis community in the Pacific Northwest. Every year they host BBQs, meet-ups, sports days, and larger gatherings to bring wheelchair users in the Pacific Northwest together to encourage and inspire each other to "Do Life".
