One of the most significant dates during the reign of the Catholic kings was that of October 12th 1492: the day that Christopher Columbus discovered America. The fact that Christopher Columbus (who was not of Spanish origin) had come to a foreign court to offer his services proves that the discovery of America was not at all an accident.
