It was ok, but i didn't even finish it
i was really disappointed, plot of the story was really good, the story kept getting hung up on the romance between the two main characters. Their relationship seemed underdeveloped, and forced. I found myself bored and hoping that each romance scene would end.I usually like romance.

Loved it!
I absolutely loved this book! I would recommend it to fans of the Winners Trilogy and the Remnant Chronicles. This book is full of lies and deception and a nice romance. 😍

Not for me... don’t waste your credit
For a more seasoned reader, someone who has read a lot about, you may find this quite line a bit contrived. This might be a good work for a younger crowd who hasn’t read as much. Perhaps elementary or junior high level. But probably not really elementary since there is an element of slight spice(?).
I was about to get ready to give up on the book, and then one twist kept me intrigued enough to endure the most sickly sappy writing. Almost reads as a lower level fanfiction.
The main character is “not like other girls” and the whole cast can almost reflect as a reverse harem.
And the last chapter? Oh my goodness… Hi don’t mean to be mean, but makes you almost want to throw up a little in your mouth how sickly sappy it is.
This review sounds a lot meaner than I would like it to, but nowadays I’ve lost faith in the review of the most popular books, because I read them only to be disappointed. This was no different. again, not for me but maybe for a different type of readers. I’m only writing it low so people of my same taste can hopefully not waste their time and money on this.

Couldn’t get past the first five chapters
The narrator sounded robotic and almost like a petulant teenager. While I can understand trying to fight against the social norms of the time period, I just couldn’t get used to Sage’s her random outbursts and “rebellious” rants. The first couple of chapters sounded childish.

Plot twists and Kisses and Lies Oh My!
Loved. Loved. Loved. Very well developed! Don't read too many reviews though!! The plot twists are too good to spoil before reading the whole novel!

Strong girl, smart men, intrigue & evil plots
What a fun new series to discover! I really enjoyed this story, it has all the typical elements of a successful YA book, but a bit more. The female lead is a smart but flawed character that is dealing with loss and lack of family love, but despite a challenging future she remains kind and really focuses on staying true to herself. The relationship she develops with the male lead is authentic, builds slowly and develops in a way that is respectful (well, except for the lying -but it is a spy novel after all, there has to be some lying). What I really liked though, is the relationship develops after spending time together and getting to know one another and observing how they treat people around them. I also liked the other male characters in the books, they were loyal, respectful, sometimes funny and honest. The other female characters in the story were a great mix of support characters as well, the super smart and perceptive matchmaker, the loyal and kind new bestie, the vapid brides. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am really looking forward to the next in the series. I'll be buying extra credits so I can jump right in.
I only gave 3 stars on narration, as with many audiobooks the narration starts out really rough and choppy, I almost gave up on it because of the reading style in the beginning but by the end, it felt like the narrator hit her stride. The point that was almost a deal-breaker was the men's voices - these are strong, smart soldiers in their early 20's but in the beginning of the novel they all sounded like 10-year-old children. As I said, by about mid-novel the narration gets better, but it's a tough start.

Fängt etwas langsam an, aber wird dann richtig gut
Schöne Geschichte, gleich den zweiten Teil gekauft.
Wie gesagt, es fängt etwas sehr langsam an, aber ab einem gewissen Punkt war ich einfach nur noch begeistert. Mehr sag ich jetzt nicht, um nicht zu spoilern.
Die Sprecherin ist auch gut verständlich und sympatisch. Ich fand, sie hat gut zu Sage gepasst.

Dieses Buch gehört zu meiner Leselist 23 Bücher für 2023 und da ich schon lange es Lesen wollte hier bin ich. Wir folgen Sage die verheiratet werden soll aber alles kommt anderes und das Mädchen steckt mittendrin in denn Intrigen zweier Könige. Die Geschichte wird aus der dritten Perspektive erzählt und wir folgen mehrere Charaktere. Ich wusste nicht viel was mich erwartet nur das es um eine geplatzte Hochzeit und Soldaten ging. Ich war daher etwas überrascht über denn Lauf der Geschichte da ich zwar mein Verdacht hatte was eine gewisse Person betrifft aber mir nie zu 100 % sicher war. Ich mochte Sage als Charakter sie ist eine taffe Junge Frau die genau weiß was sie von Leben will ha aber dennoch dieses unschuldige an sich das zu schnelle Endscheidungen trifft. Dennoch mochte ihre Sicht der Ding und auch wie sie sich im laufe der Geschichte entwickelt. Besonders die zusammen Arbeit mit dem kleinen Charlie hat mir gefallen. Die Storyline hat mich überrascht da es um Liebe und Kampf ging beides zusammen gemischt insbesondere die ganzen Wendungen im laufe des Buches. Ich hab zwar einiges kommen sehen dennoch war ich zwischen durch verwirrt und dennoch habe ich es genossen. Im ganzen war es ein guter Start in die Geschichte es hat mich ein Bissen an Kuss der Lüge erinnert aber dennoch hat es sein eignen weg gehangen besonders die Unerwartet Überraschung was ein Charakter betrifft wurde gut gemacht. Ich bin definitiv gespannt was mich noch erwartet in dieser Reihe.
