Description
From the afterlife - a new perspective on your life: “I know this may come as a shock, and you know I’m not fond of using stale one-liners, but - ‘reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.’ I’m as alive now as I was on the day we met, except, maybe, more so.” If the dead could speak, don’t you wonder what they would say to those of us they’ve left behind? What would they tell us to soothe our sorrow, calm our fears of what happens when we die, and fire us up to live the best possible lives now? With wisdom, humor, and, yes, joy, New York Times best-selling author Mike Dooley explores our most pressing and profound questions about the afterlife - and this life - from the fresh perspective of those who have made the transition to the next phase. Revelations they share:
- We were ready; you are not.
- There’s no such thing as a devil or hell.
- We’re sorry for any pain we may have caused.
- Your pets are just as crazy, brilliant, and loving here as they were there.
- Nothing can prepare you for the beauty of the moment you arrive.
In this audio program, you’ll learn that our loved ones are not lost to us; that our time on earth is both a school and an adventure; and that we can reshape our own fortunes, starting today.

I good source of information
I’ve read many books over the years by many authors who have interviewed people who died and came back. Along with near death experiences people have had. I’ve read David Wilcox work on what really happens when we die as well as many others.
Here Mike puts them all together in one location and it’s easy to follow. I have never believed since I was a little child what I was told about death and judgement I will face when it occurs. I believe Mike has it right and that we are all loved and here to learn lessons as the ancient pagans used to teach. Which oddly enough the Catholic church taught as well until they decided it was heresy.
When you read this book you will understand why you do some of the things you do like that odd little conversation with the person in the store line that you will never see again in this life. If you did you would see how it changed both of your lives in a little way that led to something bigger. You’d understand that fearing death is a waste of time and so much more. Please approach this book with an open mind and enjoy it to it’s fullest.

Just Trust Me
I actually listened to this on Audible rather than reading the book, which I have. I really WANT to give this more stars, I truly do. But I just struggled with this entire book. In the introduction he says (paraphrased): "trust me just because I know". Absolutely no explanation how he knows all things, nada. Just "trust me". Then he continues into some interesting and some totally fantastical ideas about the afterlife...out there stuff, mostly repeats of hundreds of other manifestation books. The truth is, I'd love to buy what he's saying, but it is tough. Dooley repeats what 500 quantum physics "The Secret" type books have said, only without any authority. He also takes it further with weird letters from supposed dead people. I think these letters from the dead could be very hurtful to anyone reading this trying to find some comfort about a lost loved one.
The audio version was done OK. I didn't love the narrator, but he wasn't too distracting. What was distracting was trying to figure out how and on what authority a former accountant magically turned knower-of-all-things.

I requested a refund
Would you try another book from Mike Dooley and/or Mike Dooley?
I would rather hit myself in the head with hammer.
What was most disappointing about Mike Dooley’s story?
He is ego driven and in love with himself.
How could the performance have been better?
I've purchased many books from audible, and have never requested my money back until this one. Mike Dooley is obviously quite impressed with himself. I tried 4 different times to listen to this book and each time abandoned it wanting to throw a brick at this guy's head. Every word of every sentence was accentuated to where I think he popped veins narrating this book. He sounded ridiculous. Every word he said was totally ego driven - how can anyone find him credible? I could not.
Any additional comments?
Mike Dooley - for the love of all that is holy, pony up and pay a professional narrator you pompous jerk.

Not Really. Title is misleading.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
To actually make the book be what the title says it is.
What could Mike Dooley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I'm thinking maybe having not written it at all would have been good.
What didn’t you like about Mike Dooley’s performance?
Nothing.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
NOPE.
Any additional comments?
This book is equivalent to attending a self-help seminar where you have to sit and endure some guy (who happens to be pretty dang full of himself) stand on a stage and PREACH to you about how much wonderful potential you have; how you need to be more thankful for everything you have; and if you'll simply changed your shitty attitude and embrace life, life will suddenly be great for you. Dead people are mentioned in the book every so often, I suppose just to make the big jump between Dooley's philosophy and the actual title of the book. It's dribble, don't waste your money. It actually reminded me of when I was a kid and my parents would lecture me. Who wants to pay for that sort of torture?

Don't buy
Painful to listen to.
Listen to The Door of Everything by Ruby Nelson. It is 50 years old, but way ahead of this guy. It seams like he borrowed some of the concepts and then destroyed their benefit in his pedantic and condescending style.

Disappointing
Love your work Mike Dooley but the narration in this was too much, too overdone, to enthusiastic to really engage with and I felt the stories/anecdotes were too simplistic- a bit like a children's book. I've loved your other work but I did not finish this one. Tone down the hype so we can hear your message more clearly.

Have you listened to any of Mike Dooley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
this is my first
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I could barely put it down, except to stop and contemplate what I had just heard.

I am sure I will listen to it over and over and recommend it to friends or use it in my classes.

Mike Dooley is a Guru
What made the experience of listening to The Top Ten Things Dead People Want to Tell You the most enjoyable?
This book is a treasure; Mike Dooley is a treasure. This is a book to listen to many times, it is so packed with wisdom and tells the full story. It's uplifting and offers courage and confidence to face life's challenges. The author's reading is enthusiastic and sincere. there's a lot packed into every sentence so it might take a few listens. But then it is speaking truth and is a book to listen to over and over again.
What other book might you compare The Top Ten Things Dead People Want to Tell You to and why?
I haven't read any modern book that compares to it.
What about Mike Dooley’s performance did you like?
Wildly enthusiastic and, maybe moving a bit fast but, then it is a comprehensive reference that needs to be listened to more than once.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
We are all free.

Interesting Book, but hard to listen to
If you could sum up The Top Ten Things Dead People Want to Tell You in three words, what would they be?
Read the book! The author reads so fast it is hard to keep up with what he is saying.
Concepts are lost because he goes at light speed.
What didn’t you like about Mike Dooley’s performance?
He seems very passionate about what he is saying, but he goes so fast that you lose some of the information. You have no time to contemplate what he is saying before he has taken off on another topic. This would be a book to read and not listen to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I would have liked to listen to all of the book at one sitting. The information is very interesting.

Confusing
What would have made The Top Ten Things Dead People Want to Tell You better?
If it made a little more sense to me.I love Mike Dooley but this book was completely confusing!!
What was most disappointing about Mike Dooley’s story?
I lost interest easily because it really had no point!
Any additional comments?
Not like any other of Mike's books...which i really love. This one has no particular focus or direction. This one is all over the place.

Verry Heart touching and Challenging
The author keeps almost too much in mind that the content of his book is believable and especially acceptable which leads to a carefull word set. Callenging because it provocates the reader/listener to adapt his/her daily live habbits and understanding of the purpose of life it's self. This could result in a profound change depending on the original point of view
