Lithuanian immigrant Jurgis Rudkus has invested every last hope in achieving a prosperous new start in a new country. But the only job open to him - in the appalling stockyards of Packingtown, Chicago - will become a brutal, dispiriting, and dangerous challenge to his pride, his family, his life, and his faith in the American Dream. A scathing condemnation of capitalism, corporate corruption, and the exploitation of the working class, The Jungle was a sensation when first published. It stands as one the greatest and most influential proletarian novels ever written.

Description
The Oregon crew must work without their usual resources when a rogue hacker empties their bank account in this action-packed installment from the number-one New York Times best-selling grand master of adventure.
When a bank heist during the Monaco Grand Priz decimates the Corporation’s “offshore” account, Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon find themselves unexpectedly vulnerable. Without his usual financial assets, Juan must trust a woman from his past, an old friend from his days with the CIA, to help him keep his team safe. Together, they’ll face a mysterious hacker with a brutal vendetta. It is only after the hunt begins that the enormity of the plan comes into focus: The bank theft is just the first step in a plot that will result in the deaths of millions and bring the world’s economies to a standstill.
The catalyst for the scheme? A stunning document stolen during Napoleon’s disastrous invasion of Russia. But 200 years later, it may be the thing that brings Europe to its knees.

Swashbuckling Adventure story
The book opened up in the Sahara desert with Juan Cabrillo, Eddie and Link infiltrated into a terrorist group. The terrorists found a downed USAF Strategic Command plane from the Cold War with nuclear weapons aboard. No sooner has the team dealt with this problem, and then they find someone has stolen the corporation’s money that was in an offshore account. They find out they’re up against a skilled and cunning foe with a very sophisticated yacht with weaponry more advanced than that of the Oregon. I cannot believe it: a member of the Oregon crew is killed. Then suddenly the story shifts to Napoleon escaping from St. Helena and then back to modern day hunting for Napoleon’s diary of the failed Russian campaign.
The book is well written with lots of a variety of types, land, sea and air action. The pace is very fast. I have always enjoyed Cussler’s method of intertwining the modern day story to a not so well known fact of history. I enjoy the various Oregon crew members with a surprising range of skills and talent. The variety of characters keeps the story from getting dull. As always Scott Brick does an excellent job narrating the story.

Loved it!!
Non stop action and Scott Brick completely immerses you in the action so you feel like you're watching it live.. I LOVE the Oregon files... Wish they could write one every month... But the research the authors have to put in makes it worth the wait.. I've listened or read every one of Clive Cussler's novels.. And I dare say there's not a better fan of his out there!

A little too much romance
I look forward to every new Oregon Files. This one seemed to have less detail and adventure. Also, the Nora Roberts romance touches between the Chairman and Gretchen seemed forced and out of place. Much less depth to the story. As always, Scott Brick is fabulous. I will listen to the next installment but fear the series is running out of steam.

One of the best in the series.
I believe this may be the best in this series. A great plot. The story kept you guessing right to the end. Scott Brick was superb as usual. Don't pass this one by. I unfortunately listened to it nonstop I couldn't take a break. So I cut my enjoyment time down to just the one day. Now I am waiting for the next installment. Ob

Finally! The one I have been waiting for
Not to give out spoilers so I'll try to say it carefully... Ever since I read about the Oregon and it's fantastical gadgets and crew, I've been waiting for them to encounter this enemy. Very well done!

A techno thriller that does not deliver
I'm disappointed! The Emperor's Revenge is easily the weakest of the 11 Cussler novels in my Audible library. It is not a bad novel; it is not a good novel. My choice was between 2 stars and 3. Narration is much better than the story.

So Good !
In 1 weeks time I have listened to this book, and now its over and I'm sad. Such a good book I hated to end. I had forgotten in the previous kurt austin book how he meets up with the chairman in the the warehouse - until it happened in this book from this side of the story. So cool how he can cross charters from other books . Its a great listen, as are all Cussler books and scott brick is the bomb!

Awesome as Always
The Oregon Files series is my favorite of Cussler's many series. This book was great. The narrator was wonderful as always.
I just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next Oregon Files book.
