But no one can outrun the defenders of the High Republic forever.
After the defeat of her crew, Lourna falls into the hands of the Jedi - but not before she hides her identity, becoming just another Nihil convict. Her captors fail to understand the beast they have cornered. Just like every fool she’s ever buried, their first mistake was keeping her alive.
Lourna is determined to make underestimating her their last.
Locked onto a Republic correctional ship, she's dragged across the galaxy to repair the very damage she and her fellow Tempest Runners inflicted on it. But as Lourna plans her glorious escape, she makes alliances that grow dangerously close to friendships. Outside the Nihil - separated from her infamous ship, her terrifying arsenal, and her feared name - Lourna must carve her own path. But will it lead to redemption? Or will she emerge as a deadlier threat than ever before?

Love that Star Wars is expanding this way.
As a fan of radio and audio dramas, I love that Star Wars is expanding into this form of media. Voice cast is excellent, many of them I'm familiar with as audio book narrators. An excellent look at Laurna Dee, and others as well. Hope more of these are released in future.

Top notch production, engaging and essential read.
As always, production was top notch. Had some issues differentiating one or two characters talking to each other early on but as the cast got larger it became easier. The story was more varied than I expected. Initial impressions was that it was going to be similar to the Phasma book and wouldn't have any forward progress in the High Republic timeline but it exceeded expectations there and is essential reading if you want to keep up with everything. Even managed to keep the main character from straying too far from her established position and going into the tired antivillain with a secretly good heart cliche which was quite welcome.

well done
This book wasn't like any of the Star Wars books I've listened to so far. The collaboration of all these narrations made this book one of my favorites.

Disappointing
The production and quality of the star wars recordings is always phenomenal. I was just disappointed in this particular story. I thought the Lorna Dee character was alright as part of the villain group in previous books of this series. But I liked her less and less in this book. I felt like I was supposed to feel sorry for her from her back story and what it's made her become but I don't. I dislike her more and find her annoying and was really disappointed in the outcome of this story.

A great character study!
Tempest Runner is a great character story that is a wonderful addition to the rest of the High Republic media. The production value of this audio drama is astounding, and helps give these characters a strong voice, enhancing the other books and comics in the High Republic.

INCREDIBLE
I was skeptical at first of a whole book about Lourna Dee, but boy was I in for a treat! This Audio Drama was SO enjoyable! I listened to the whole thing in a day because it was just that good! I NEED MORE LOURNA NOW!

Had potential but...
The voice acting is ultimately what brought this down for me. Without Lourna's grunting and heavy breathing this would probably have been 2 hours shorter.

Awful
The story was ok, but I cannot stand the “full cast” approach to audiobooks! I usually listen to my Star Wars audiobooks over and over, but I don’t anticipate ever listening to this one again.

Großartige Erweiterung einer großartigen Ära
Die Hohe Republik ist bis jetzt definitiv meine Lieblings-Ära in Star Wars. Das Audiodrama "Tempest Runner" hat mich ebenfalls sehr begeistert.
Die Geschichte ist mitreißend, die Charaktere vielschichtig.
Wir erhalten einen tieferen Einblick in die Nihil, die Bösewichte der Hohen Republik.
Es werden bekannte Charaktere wie Lourna Dee und Marchion Ro tiefer beleuchtet und wir erfahren uns bisher unbekannte Dinge über deren Vergangenheit. Es kommen aber auch neue, sehr gut geschriebene Charaktere wie Jon Wittick und Tasia dazu, mit denen man vom tiefsten Herzen mitfiebert oder die man definitiv verlieren sehen will.
Die Synchronisation ist ebenfalls wirklich gut, man versteht fast alles sehr gut und es wird immer klar, wer gerade spricht.
"Tempest Runner" lohnt sich für jeden High Republic Fan und ich hoffe, dass in Phase 2 erneut ein Audiodrama erscheinen wird.

Sehr schwer zu ertragen!
Ich hatte das Gefühl immer wieder die selbe Szene zu hören! Außerdem ist das ständige brüllen und stöhnen auf Dauer sehr anstrengend! Die Protagonisten sind andauernd außer Atem und scheinen eine schlechte Kondition zu haben! Es ist auch sehr schwer manche Personen auseinander zu halten! Manche Stimmen ähneln sich zu sehr!

The back Story of Lourna D brings a New perspektive into the Nihil.
No longer only black and white opposites with just utterly sadistic, cruel Nihil.
