Description
Bennett Sharp is on the run. Wanted for piracy, she fears neither God nor death nor man. Except Priest Farrell.
The unfaithful, stormy-eyed libertine hunts her with terrifying possessiveness. Nothing will stop him from coming for her. Not his unforgivable betrayal. Not when she’s captured by the ice-cold pirate hunter Lord Ashley Cutler.
She must escape Ashley’s prison and Priest’s deceit. But can she walk away from their twisted desires?
Two gorgeous captains stand on opposite sides of the law. When they collide in a battle to protect her, the lines blur between enemies and lovers.
Passion heats, secrets unravel, and hearts entangle until they break.
Can love prevail in the sea of ruin?

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!
I'm almost exclusively audio, so there are *very* few books I read in print anymore. I read this one before it was released on audio, but I purchased the audio immediately. Roxy Isles performed this story perfectly! I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!
Let me just give you a list of the things I loved... off the top of my head...
1. Strong heroine. Holy crap does this woman have the fortitude of the toughest men.
2. Action packed. From the very beginning this tale starts off with a chase and never slows down the entire story.
3. A bad-boy hero that chases her to the ends of the earth because he *knows* he wants only her. And she knows he will always come for her.
4. A good-guy hero that isn't all *that* good. He can't help but push away from her, and then be drawn right back in.
5. Friends that have her back. Forever. No matter what.
6. Villains aplenty. I like that you aren't stuck hating one character through the whole story.
7. **********. Something I can't mention because it's a spoiler. But HOT AF!
8. Creative solutions to problems that seem like a dead end. Where does the author come up with some of this stuff???
9. Pirate theme. I grew up reading Johanna Lindsey's pirate romances and I just don't find the recent books to be as enjoyable. You will feel like you are onboard the ship right next to them!
10. A DAMN FINE, nay, PERFECT ending!
Did I mention that I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!!

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
***Warning***
If you're sensitive to violence, rape, abuse, torture, manipulation, the deepest grief and longing.... as well as wicked sexual plays, do not enter!
This story has a badass pirate heroine who saw her own pirate father hang and her mother jumping out from a cliff because of her grief - just shortly after Bennett herself gutted a 40 year old man who tried to rape her. At that time she is just 14 years old.
That's how the story of Bennett Sharp, female pirate Captain in the Westindia Seas in the 1800s. Slavery and pirating is at the top of any seaman's career, and in all that, she meets her husband Priest whom has betrayed her and loves another.
Bennett runs from him,and 2 years later, runs into him again. But this time she is his captor, and she cannot forgive him.
That's when things get interesting, because Bennett parts ways with her crew to make a ruse for the English Navy ship and its captain, Ashley Cutler.
First enemies, then lovers. Trying to escape, but suddenly falling in love? What to do?
Before she has a plan she is taken on to another ship and being abused so horribly that I had trouble not living and breathing beside her.
From one captor to another, from one abuser to another - until it all ends in happy ever after - but in a different way that I was used to.
This story packs a punch. 15 hours of gruesome violence, heartbreaking and heartwrenching love, longing, rejection, the fulfillment of the ultimate love story. An unexpected twist, secrets revealed and a bounty hunt.
I honestly don't know what else you could want from a story about pirates, love and the seven seas.
Plus - the narrator is simply amazing. She is worth your credit!

mmf ending spoils entire experience
If you're going to hang your entire book on an mmf erotic bolt out of the blue that is completely unearned, with an mm twist that is profoundly distasteful, and then this constitutes your HEA . . . count me out.
The responsible thing to do would be to tell listeners that this is an important element of the story before they spend a credit on something they, to put it mildly, don't want to wallow in.

Storyline was ruined by twists
I did not appreciate the polyamory twist. Neither male character read as gay, and it ruined the whole thing. I will avoid this author from now on.

Twisted Desires!
OMG 😳Pam Godwin! This book is not for the faint of heart!! Bennett has endured and overcome more than anyone should ever experience. There is so much angst, betrayal, deception, and sacrifice throughout Bennett’s life that I wondered where she got the fortitude to move forward. Bennett’s dilemma of loving two men simultaneously, being a female pirate, and feeling the cruelty meted out by vicious human beings would have destroyed a lesser person. “Spoiler alert”🚨!! There was rape, graphic violence, and physical abuse throughout the story. Clare Corbett and Roxy Isles’ performance was phenomenal !! Her expressiveness allowed me to vividly picture each scene in my mind’s eye lending credibility throughout the entire audiobook!! I loved it 🥰😍🤩😍🥰❣️

The Narrator was phenomenal
Beautiful writing style but story had elements that weren’t Categorized which I found very misleading.

Lifetime channel special :-(
I was intrigued that the story took place in the early Seventeen hundreds but was very disappointed when it turned into a cheap romance novel.

Seriously dark and disturbed
I took a serious wrong turn with this book. I purchased it blindly after a recommendation, but did not research beforehand. I had absolutely no idea what I was in for. Roxy Isles was amazing, but the story was seriously effed up, sick and depraved. The violence was extreme, and though horrified on a deep level, I kept listening to see what happened next the same way you are hypnotized into watching a car crash or train wreck. This was horrific, and disturbing on so many levels. Lesson learned though, I will never again blindly follow a recommendation.

OMG
Let me start by saying, if you have triggers, then this isn't the book for you. This book is full of abusive situations, rapes, belittling and humiliation....but it was a great read.
The ending MFM relationship that develops, I thought it was beautifully executed. I just wish we saw more of it.

I hated and loved it... Great ending!
The pirate setting is absolutely cool! Be prepared for a lot of graphic scenes. Also there is a rape scene and other violence against humans, which definitively are triggers and not for everyone. I could have lived without it. I was disgusted many times.. But at the same time I loved the main characters, the pirate setting, some (not all) steamy scenes and especially the ending.
