The Bondage was Unexpected
This book contains three stories centered around the Christmas Holiday season. Two of them are great, while the third is just unnecessary. Listen to the first and second and skip the third if you have better things to do. Something unexpected is each of theses stories feature different degrees of bondage, domination and submission which the book description didn't hint to.
The first story is Wish List by K.A. Mitchell. A M/M story about two long time lovers that have trouble communicating and find it easier to express their true wishes by writing them down during Christmas. I really enjoyed this story and how the characters found it difficult to express what they wanted for fear of rejection. I'm a true believer in being honest from the start and felt like the story could go either way with all the secrets the characters were keeping but were happy to see them get their happily ever after.
The second story is I Need You for Christmas by Leah Braemel. I short story of long time long distance lovers who decided to spend the rest of their lives together without talking to each other first caused for some funny reader knows moments. The performance was a bit metallic at 1.5x speed but was tolerable at 1.25x.
The third book was Breath on Embers by Anne Calhoun. A difficult listen, the main character was very depressed and was depressing to listen to. She spent most of the book pushing away a really great guy and in the end it takes 3 people to make her forget her troubles the overall story spent a lot of time around Catholic holiday and funeral practices which was a bit much for a holiday short story.
