Description

On the Wings of War is a m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Vigil in the Mourning. Listening to the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

Riveting and more!
Hailey Turner’s amazing series just keeps getting better.
I loved reading this via ebook but listening to Gary Furlong’s narration brings the whole experience to a different level. The story is clearer in my mind, the details more vivid, Wades antics are more hilarious, the fight scenes more magical and intense.
This is what happens when a brilliant story is being narrated by a brilliant narrator.
Now I’m off to listen to book six and I’m excited and nervous at the same time.

A fast paced, urban fantasy!
I love the world building of this entire series. Each book keeps getting better and better and I can't help but look forward to listening to them.
If you like a fast paced paranormal, urban fantasy setting you will love this.
If you like an action packed romantic, fantasy mystery, I do recommend this.
Gary Furlong has performed an exceptional audio delivery as well.

great urban fantasy!
One of the best lgbt fantasy series i have heard! I Highly recommend it! The characters are well developed and the plot super engaging!

annoying
as much as just love these books I cant stand wade anymore. he's turned into a whinie little kid and it take the flow outta the story. it's almost like the rider purposely made Wade into a little child to stop people from wanting to listen to the book every time his character comes up in the story I want to stop listening

Totally entrenched in this series!
These books just get better and better. This is book 5, though I can't believe it because the flow is so seemless.
Don't even bother with this if you haven't started the others; this is not a series you can just jump into the middle of. The world-building is dense and thorough and the story arcs continue from book to book.
The NY god packs keep having these small battles, but most of the book takes place in London and Paris; this arc really takes a backseat. I love the ongoing love story of Jono and Patrick, and how they both mentor Wade like big brothers. There are many returning characters and a few new ones thrown in. I was still a little lost during some battle scenes--maybe those are better read than listened to? Still, it wasn't as confusing as the one with all the Celtic gods. I am now desperate for book 6; BIG surprise at the end of this one!
Gary Furlong does a great job. He nails it with Patrick and Jono, and even Wade. He doesn't merely read the book, but brings it to life. I won't be able to read these after listening to his masterful performance.
I highly recommend this entire series, and especially this contribution. Can't wait for the next one!

Best yet!
This one has such great pacing and seemless action - do you need more of a sell than: Zombie Invasion and absurd amounts of property damage?
Furlong did an exceptional job too with attention to details (making Patrick have less accurate French pronunciation than Jono for example.)
If you've followed the series this far, you'll love this one!

and just keeps getting better
Seriously, how does she do it?! The New York God back is off to London to continue the hunt of the Morrigan staff, Jono must confront his past, but now he has a true pack to aide him and prejudices he faced before leaving. We get to meet Spencer, another person from Patrick's past to aide them on the mission, and yep, I am in love.
From London we goto Paris where politely put chaos ensures and looks like another place that may not let our pack visit again. So much happens in this book you cannot set it down for the fear of missing something vital to how these people will get their hea.
Side note Wade may need to check his priorities, just saying sometimes snacks aren't the only one.
Gary Furlong beautifully interrupts all thw different dialects in this series and let's be honest that alone is a feat not many narrarators are able to accomplish!
