    Description

Remembering the dead will always give them life.

The coveted Morrígan’s staff is up for sale on the black market to the highest bidder, and SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins will do whatever it takes to ensure the Dominion Sect doesn’t get their hands on it. Returning the weapon to its rightful owner is another step on the long road toward clearing Patrick’s soul debt, but he won’t walk it alone. Jonothon de Vere won’t let him.

Obeying the gods means Patrick must travel to London. For Jono, it means facing a past he thought he’d left behind forever. His return to England isn’t welcome, and neither is their pack, but Jono and Patrick will face the antagonism together. Politics aside, their priority must be the mission, but the bone-chilling secret they uncover in the London god pack will have far-reaching repercussions no one can ignore.

A race against time takes Patrick and Jono from the streets of London to the bright lights of Paris, where hospitality is thin on the ground, the air is filled with whispered prayers for the missing, and the Morrígan’s staff will end up in the one place it should never have gone - a graveyard.

For beneath Paris lie the long-forgotten dead, and when they rise to walk again, the living can only hope to die.

On the Wings of War is a m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Vigil in the Mourning. Listening to the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

    Riveting and more!

Hailey Turner’s amazing series just keeps getting better.

I loved reading this via ebook but listening to Gary Furlong’s narration brings the whole experience to a different level. The story is clearer in my mind, the details more vivid, Wades antics are more hilarious, the fight scenes more magical and intense.

This is what happens when a brilliant story is being narrated by a brilliant narrator.

Now I’m off to listen to book six and I’m excited and nervous at the same time.

    A fast paced, urban fantasy!

I love the world building of this entire series. Each book keeps getting better and better and I can't help but look forward to listening to them.

If you like a fast paced paranormal, urban fantasy setting you will love this.
If you like an action packed romantic, fantasy mystery, I do recommend this.

Gary Furlong has performed an exceptional audio delivery as well.

    annoying

as much as just love these books I cant stand wade anymore. he's turned into a whinie little kid and it take the flow outta the story. it's almost like the rider purposely made Wade into a little child to stop people from wanting to listen to the book every time his character comes up in the story I want to stop listening

    Best yet!

This one has such great pacing and seemless action - do you need more of a sell than: Zombie Invasion and absurd amounts of property damage?
Furlong did an exceptional job too with attention to details (making Patrick have less accurate French pronunciation than Jono for example.)
If you've followed the series this far, you'll love this one!

Ah, Paris, Zombies, Pat and Jono (and Wade!)

Having been to Paris last year, (before the lockdown), Hailey Turner's visually rich writing was especially fun as much of the action takes place in---and under---Paris. The pace was fast and furious in this book, ending on an emotional cliff. Superb performace by Gary Furlong, as usual. Just can't imagine a better partnership than this series and the talented Furlong.

Action, suspense, romance - this book has it all

This is definitely one of my all time favorite series and this book was another outstanding edition to it! This series/book has it all: fantastic world building, characters you love and that are fully developed (both main and secondary), a wonderful romance, some snarky humor and tons of action, suspense and adventure.

It was great to see Jono go full circle back to London where the god pack there didn't want him. He, Patrick, Wade and Sage have to deal with all the pack politics, the dangerous secret the London god pack alpha is hiding along with the mission to find and retrieve the Morrigan Staff. Lucien is also along for the ride (I admit it - I secretly like him and really enjoy when he's around). There's an epic battle in Paris that kept me on the edge of my seat. It'd bloody and violent and a definite page turner. Although Patrick and Jono don't have much down time to spend together you can feel the emotions and dedication between the two of them throughout the book. Sage is a badass and I loved seeing her in full Dire mode and of course Wade brings some humor and he's pretty badass as well (but then he is a dragon - I expect nothing less even if he is a teen).

There's a pretty big bombshell at the end and I can't wait to see what's next for this series. I loved the addition of Spencer and I'm intrigued with his attraction to Lucien. I couldn't have asked for a better book!

This series has everything I look for and love and there's so much to enjoy. London and Paris were exciting but I'm looking forward to Patrick and Jono being back in New York and hopefully dealing with the other NY god pack.

The narration is fantastic and really brings the characters and the suspense to life. One of my favorite series to listen to.
