Are you Christian and battling anxiety?
Beloved,
When Jesus left the earth, he could’ve given humans any gift. He had risen! He had been given authority over all things in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. He was in his glorified body. In his resurrection, he was revealed as the savior of the world. He could’ve given us anything, and we would’ve cherished it forever. But, as he ascended into the heavens, he chose to give us one gift.
In John 14:27, Jesus said, ”Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”
The savior of the world, who came to earth to have the human experience so that we could see that he knew everything that we go through, decided that peace would be the most important parting gift.
If you are a Christian and you’ve confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you have access to this gift of peace. But, Beloved, a gift is useless if you don’t receive it. Jesus already gave you peace. But, if you don’t take it and apply it to your life, you won’t get the benefits of his gift.
Do you want to know how to receive every gift that God planned for you to have? You seek out the promises regarding what you need in his word...and you hold on to them. You read them, you speak them, you start your thinking and reasoning from them, you mumble them under your breath, you recall them, and declare them when thoughts of anxiety and fear come around. Hold on to his world, and it’ll change your life. Draw close to him and he’ll come running to you.
We must experience the consequence of his finished work. We do that by abiding in him.
