Description

An urgent cry for help brings Poirot to France. But he arrives too late to save his client, whose brutally stabbed body now lies face downwards in a shallow grave on a golf course.

But why is the dead man wearing his son's overcoat? And who was the impassioned love-letter in the pocket for? Before Poirot can answer these questions, the case is turned upside down by the discovery of a second, identically murdered corpse....

Great Story

As always, Hugh Fraser narrates the story very well. His Poirot voice matches the one from the film version so well, it is better than the one David Suchet uses in the audio books he narrates! The story is very well-crafted and moves quickly. I could not have predicted the twist at the end. This work has more romance in it than the other Poirot stories I know, which makes it all the more interesting and meaningful.

One of the best

If you could sum up Murder on the Links in three words, what would they be?

Must get it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder on the Links?

I loved the parts where Hercule went up against the "expert detective". While the he was searching for clues with a microscope, Poirot was examining a piece of pipe and piles of old clothes.

What does Hugh Fraser bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love the way he is consistent with the voices of the characters that are in multiple books. It makes it very easy to know who is talking without him saying so.

Any additional comments?

One of my favorites so far!! Never saw the end coming!

Hugh Fraser is a Winner!

Hugh Fraser is the perfect narrator for the Poirot books! He's charming, easy listening, and a perfect Poirot and much better than other Poirot narrators.

Hastings in Love

The beginning of when Hastings diverges to the Argentine and we slowly start getting more of Japp and Ariadne. Loved this episode too. A true love story even with Poirots meddling.

Great story

A very great story with twists and turns and one of my favorite elements... making fun of Hastings. Poirot event gets an “adversary” in the French Inspector Giraud who goes out of his way to insult Poirot. A truly great Poirot story!

Well Done Detective! Excellent Narrator

I enjoyed this second in the series and look forward to listening to some more. A word to the wise: listen to the sample in order to choose the best narrator to your liking. This one was excellently done!

Slower pace, but a good listen

The pace of the story us slow. It definitely isn't the same as The Big Four or Murder on the Orient Express or Cards on the Table, but it is still a good book with the usual Hercule Poirot twist at the end. **A side note: Chronogically this is the second Poirot book which she wrote in 1923. Her previous book was The Secret Adversary ( the first Tommy and Tuppence book ) in 1922. ** There were times when the story lagged and times when it was a bit confusing, but having read several of Christie's later books I can see her developing Hercule's character. Plus, I never knew how Hastings and his wife, nicknamed Cinderella, met. In later books you hear him reference her, but nothing more. Overall, I give this a 3 star.

Good story. Excellent performance.

Hugh Fraser is a fantastic narrator. This version is interesting in that the editing isn't entirely clean; some verbal fumbles and mispronunciations remain. It doesn't really detract from the story, though, which is classic and engaging.

Great book, amazing atuthor

An amazing book written bby Agatha Christ. This story has two mysteries to be solved, and to discover who muder the man, is necessary look for a similiar crime happen on the pastt.. Although it is a book with a mystery to be solved, it is not a book with a police story.
Furthermore, reading Agatha Christie requires patience, since every detail is important and the author mentions many minor characters to compose the investigation of the story..
