Description
Madison gave her heart to a boy at the age of 16, but all she got in return was a broken heart and a swollen belly.
Alone with a baby and desperate for the love she hadn’t found, she turned to a man who sealed his claim of devotion with a diamond ring.
He promised her a family. A life. A future. But his lies had only been a cover for the personal hell he introduced her to daily.
Now, at 25, Madison has long since stopped believing in love. Balancing single parenthood, three jobs, and online courses, she doesn’t have the time anyway.
So when the broody neighbor living in the other side of her duplex leaves a rude note on her door, she’s not interested.
Not in his dark hair, not in his physique, and definitely not in the dimples she’s only seen a hint of. She’s 100 percent, absolutely, not interested.
Not even a little.

Single parent heroine, age gap romance with grumpy hero
3.5 stars. Meet Me Halfway is an age gap contemporary romance between a single mom heroine and her grumpy neighbor hero. I enjoyed this one for the most part, more so the beginning half! I do love slow burns but for me to enjoy them the steam, chemistry and moments building up to the pay off moment have to be worth it along the way. This wasn’t perfect for me because I did want more buildup and steam…it kind of just happens all at once at the end. 😅
Madison is a single mom to her son, she has been through a lot in her 25 years…she was a teen mom, has gotten out of an abusive relationship, and has gone through a divorce. She is doing everything she can to make sure her son has a great life, including working multiple jobs, going to school full time online, paying for his tuition at a fancy school, and just being a parent. One night while studying with her music playing, she gets a knock at her front door and finds a note on the door asking her to keep it down from her grumpy next door neighbor, Garrett. When she sees Garrett a few days later, he assumes the worst about her after overhearing a conversation she’s having with her friend. Thankfully he realizes the error of his ways and how wrong he was about his assumptions about Maddie.
This had lots of tropes I love: a grumpy next door neighbor, age gap (she’s 25, he’s 36), single parent. I really enjoyed Maddie’s relationship with her son Jamie and how much he means to her. I was so angry on Maddie’s behalf while dealing with the mean judgmental moms at her son’s school. Garrett is more rude than grumpy in the beginning, he has lots of opinions about Maddie’s past and her current jobs, sometimes I felt like he leaned into that a bit too much, but he does eventually prove how much he’s there for both Maddie and her son Jamie. I do wish we got the hero POV throughout the story, instead this is told just through the heroine’s POV with an epilogue/chapter from an incident earlier in the book that we already saw from the hero’s POV. I don’t think the slow burn paid off for me personally, once we do get to the steamy times it felt a little off compared to the rest of the story with barely any buildup.

Love it!
I'm more into fantasy romance but I liked Lillian's untainted book so I decided to give this a try and it was really good... it's a duet narration so even better and both actors were good...It had spice which is a must and my only complaint is I like more spice but the story was excellent...

Great story with duet narration!
This book is pretty good. I think if you are a single parent you will resonate a lot with the story. This author is new to me, will be reading more of her work. The narration style was great, duet narration is always a win with me. 😊

Loved it! Great Narration!
Loved this book and narration! Had both male and female narrators. Best part listening to it is when Garrett said something then it would be the male narrator saying it. More books should do that! Also loved the story between Madison and Garrett. He started out as a grump, but turned into the most lovable guy!

Solid 4 star read
Grumpy/Sunshine, single mother, something different that isn’t in any other book / some of the phrases bugged me -like “use your words” like he was talking to a child but overall it was good

Not bad but not great either!!
Let me start by saying overall I did like the story. I understood why the main character felt and did things the way she did but at some point there has to be a change. I felt that it just got annoying half way through and I just kept getting frustrated with her choices. I’m also curious what happened with that coworker? Seeing how he never took no for an answer it surprised me you never hear a word from him after the incident. I loved the narration. I loved how the male and female was together and not just a back and forth chapter thing. These two narrators are among my favorites to listen to and they never disappoint.

Great audiobook
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I especially like the narrators voices. This book was a slow burn but definitely not dull. Unfortunately, I've missed informations on some topics.
