    Don't waste your time

    I really enjoy Allen Carr, but this book was complete drivel. I'll save you the time and money by telling you his "Easy Way" consists of eating nothing but fruit, veggies, seeds and nuts. Yes, you will lose weight if that's all you eat. I didn't need a book to tell me that.

    He leads you on the entire book by telling you you'll be able to lose weight by eating as much of your "favorite foods" as you want, but then drops the bomb at the end by trying to convince you that your favorite foods are the ones nature intended - i.e. fruit, veggies, nuts and seeds. No Allen, my favorite foods are pasta, donuts and cookies, but nice try.

    Complete drivel.

    excellent narration

    If you listen to this audio book with an open mind and let the author's messages sink in and resonate within your mind, you will start seeing food in a new way. In particular, you will have an appreciation for foods which you have taken for granted all your life, which taste great and are actually are good to your body in ways you don't realize. More importantly, you will recognize "junk" foods for what they are (mixtures of sugars, salt and chemicals designed by corporations to hook you and extract money from your wallet) and instantly and almost magically, their appeal will vaporize. This is one of those rare books that can truly change your life for the better if you give it a meaningful chance. I have listened to this book several times over the last month since I first acqired it and without any concious effort have lost over 15 lbs, have more energy and focus than I've had in years, and I do not feel starved or deprived. Even better, I have not felt the discomfort and shame from over stuffing myself with junk foods.

    Reasons to be vegan?

    The book encourages you to become a vegan, basically. It states that you can eat anything that your body wants and then explains how your body wants mostly fruits, vegetables and cereals. It is not restricting you in any way, but makes you think twice when putting a burger in your mouth. Be prepared to think totally different about food. I recommend it.

    Halfwit Logic & Condescending Tone

    Every bit of "logic" used in the argument being put forward falls apart under mild scrutiny. This *might* sound convincing if you skipped a critical thinking class in college, but mostly it's just stupid.

    The claim that you can "lose weight without exercising and still eat all your favorite foods," relies heavily on the notion that our favorite foods are Brussels sprouts and brown rice. Apparently our minds have been fooled into thinking our favorite foods are pizza and cheeseburgers by "big food."

    And you know what? Maybe. But as someone who loves Brussels sprouts, they lose 10 times out of 10 against pizza. My point? You can't lose weight without a lot of moderation and a little exercise. This book is a lie.

    On the positive side, if you love being spoken down to by an upper-class British accent, this audio book is absolutely for you.

    100% crap.

    everything the world has forgotten

    I used the stop smoking now book a little over a year ago and haven't picked up a cigarette or even wanted one since I finished it. I came to this book because I am a little overweight and want to be healthier I trust the author and after reading it I am not disappointed. I've been trusting my instincts for 3 days now and already feel a hundred percent better I know this method is going to work a hundred percent.

    Some reviewers missed the point

    Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    The book emphasized over and over to forget about dieting and will power -- approaches that seldom work permanently -- and that you don't have to give up any particular food.Recommended if you want to change your *habits* and forget dieting. It's for a gradual change in your thinking about food. One does need an open mind, as the author stresses, and he stresses not to take anything he says by faith. It does not preclude eating any specific food but emphasizes healthy foods that you like, and has bookoo valuable information about how to help your body rather than throw obstacles in the way of its healthy functioning.

    Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    I looked forward to listening while walking and bought the written version after finishing the audio book so I could easily look up ideas and reference information going forward.

    Any additional comments?

    I'm not sure I agree with every single logical point but overall I think it's sound thinking and I found it liberating.

    Slam dunk!

    Another great book from Allen Carr! Can't believe I almost didn't buy it cause of the reviews. I wonder if people actually pay attention to what they are reading. This man's a genius when it comes to understanding human behavior. And, yes, I know his method works cause this is how I used to eat before I was brainwashed by society to eat junk.

    One of the best books on weight loss!!

    The author presents his ideas in a clear, objective, enjoyable and effective way! It's impossible not to get excited about losing weight like this! Definitely worth reading!!

    Incorrect and false information. Sorry I bought it

    I think Allen Carr had a huge success with his book about quitting smoking and tried extending the information. The problem is that it's not extendable and the arguments in the book are mostly wrong and not scientifically proven.
    The essential information is little but he extends it beyond limits repeating the same thing over and over again. The main ideas of the book are scientifically wrong . The arguments are false and incorrect. The information is distorted to prove his point which is wrong to begin with...
    This book is a mess. It's not gonna help anyone lose anything but their time and money.

    The dietary recommendations are outdated

    the book propagates the Hay Diet.
    Better listen to "Good Sugar - Bad Sugar" which promotes a low meat and low dairy, fruit and vegetable based Low Carb Diet and contains most of the other content which is helpful.
