Description

In the backcountry of Idaho, a tribe of men are hunting and killing with a dream of returning the world to an earlier time. A time when courage and prowess in the field determined a man's worth. A time when the strong took what they wanted, and the weak cowered in fear.

Mike Bryant has come to the wilderness to die. Tired of the trappings of modern life, his will to live has run out. But when he crosses paths with a group of warriors who challenge him, he suddenly finds purpose. Mike is no ordinary man. Frozen and given up for dead, an inner core of rage ignites a fury few have seen and lived.

Deep in the White Cloud mountains, a demon is awakening. The last son of the War God was forged in the storm of blood and fire. And now he's angry.

Extremely Entertaining

I bought this book for a brutal day of travel. This book was so engaging and funny that it made a couple flights and a 6 hour layover fly by. Fun, disturbing, exciting and hilarious. I burst into laughter on more than one occasion.

Excellent book

This is the best action book I’ve come across in a long time. Clays no bullshit writing style along with his deep knowledge of tactics and weapons made this an excellent listen from beginning to end. I listened to the entire thing on one car ride and can’t wait for his next book

Excellent read

I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to stop listening once I started. Clay's professional perspective on guns, violence and the military are genuine and loaded with interesting details. I would recommend this read to just about anyone.

Pretty good

I’d give it an 8.5 out of 10. Simple storyline, not what I expected, but good writing and narration that kept my interest

Gotta love Marines

As a retired Air Force intel analyst, I am extremely thankful for the highly trained and deadly Marines we have on our side and what they are willing to sacrifice in order to complete the mission. I have worked with several, but very few of them actual operators. We all have our jokes about the other branches, but there is no one I would rather work with than a crusty Marine. This book is the perfect example of why. This book is a Marine...not a lot of bs, just a lot of knowledge and skill and a willingness to do what needs to be done. Looking forward to more violence from Clay.

Loved it!

I so into this book that I even sat in my driveway waiting to finish the chapters after my rides home from work. I have nothing but positives to say about the book and the reading. If I was forced to come up with a complaint it would be the pronunciation of “GWOT” and “Lapua” but that would be a far reach. I just hate that it’s over and now I have to find something to fill the void lol.

Hell of a first novel.

I ran across a reference to this book while reading a firearm review by the author. I thought, what the heck, it's available on audible. I've read a LOT of books somewhat like this. Some gun reviewer thinks he'll try his hand at some post-apocalyptic fiction. Mostly it's very disappointing. This is NOT post-apocalyptic fiction, but it is in a similar vein. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done and as realistic as it needs to be. Who wants 100% realism in this type of book anyway. If you like tough guy shoot em up fiction, you will like this.
