 As well as okonomiyaki and takoyaki, there is another type of well-known "flour-based food" called monjayaki. お好み焼き、たこ焼きと並ぶ粉ものの一種として知られるのが、もんじゃ焼きです。
もんじゃ焼きは小麦粉を溶いてウスターソースを加えた生地に、キャベツなどの具を混ぜて鉄板で焼いた料理。糊状なので、小さなヘラで鉄板からすくい取って食べます。
江戸時代の終わりから明治時代にかけ、駄菓子屋の店内では、水で溶いた小麦粉を鉄板にたらして文字を書き、子どもに字を教えながら食べさせる光景が見られたとか。
それが、もんじゃ焼きの始まりといわれます。
もんじゃ焼きは東京の下町の味を代表する料理。中央区の「月島もんじゃストリート」には、約500ｍの通りに70店舗以上が並び、それぞれの店でオリジナルのもんじゃ焼きを味わえます。©2017 KODANSHA Anglais Apprentissage des langues
